Overhead the moon shown like a great gem over the bloody fields of the plains. Dead Knights lie all around, the Kingdom of Mynaltil was burning.
The screams of villagers could no longer be heard, the lust in a man for treasure grew too strong, that is why this once great
city burned. The toppling vagrantly painted towers now in ruins, the lush green fields left in ash. A knight, left kneeling on
a blood stained sword knelt alone, his brethren dead, his king slaughtered, and his town in ruin. There was nothing left now,
he had to die.

Remus awoke, he looked around, he was in his familiar home, a land of great power indeed, Tsarmina. Now Remus was a
Dracae, for those of you who don't know what a Dracae is, I shall explain. A Dracae is a Human who has the ears of an Elf. They
have the ability to see far and hear proficiently. They take on the appearance of a Human but have a life span of on average,
500 years. Remus arose from his bed, his face was hot and he was sweating horribly. "What was that? Is this happening... or not?"
He pondered to himself as he arose from bed. Remus had green eyes and dark brown long hair.
He dressed in his normal garb, chain shirt, black vest, black pants, worn leather gloves,
dark brown boots, and put his sword over his chest. Remus was a very skilled warrior, although he had only seen 15 winters, he
could hold his own in a battle. He strode out his door into the forum of the town. There was a magnificently marble carved fountain,
Remus stared at it, suddenly he recognized the sculpture on the statue. It was the knight he had seen in his dream! Could he be real?
Was this a dream to?

He traveled down to the training pits. Young warriors fought wooden dummies with their sturdy metal swords. In perfect unison they
struck their targets. Remus spectated from the bridge atop the training pits. He stared at the young fighters, he was the envy of his friends.
He had passed training faster than they had but he often gave them pointers. Remus was growing drowsy, he shut his eyes and lay on his back.
Darkness was all around him, he saw the knight again. The knight was dressed in beaming silver armor, it was not bloodstained like before.
The knight looked around, he looked at Remus. Remus looked down at his feet, to his surprise he was not in his normal attire. Quite the contrary,
he was dressed in garments fit for a king. His elegant jade and turquoise robe just covered his beautifully gemmed sandals. In his right hand he held
a magnificent silver staff lined with sapphires and emeralds.
"My Lord." The Knight spoke as he bowed. "The enemy is closing in all around us. They must be countered. Can you believe that
Humans want to actually fight us Dracae's? It is madness all just because we own the Gem of the Wind."
"Gem of the Wind?" Remus asked. "What is this you speak of, and what is your name good Sir Knight?" As Remus asked, he returned
the knights bow and sat at the thrown closest to him.
"Aye, My Lord. It keeps our balance to the Kingdom, That is why our townsfolk don't rebel and we have lived in peaceful days.
It also brings us much resources, gold, lumber, crops. Their greed drives them to sell it.
I am General Dantulim, My Lord." Remus' eyes slowly opened. Standing over him was the town doctor. Blood ran down his face and
his his leg was badly wounded.
"You fell from atop the bride. When you dazed of you fell to the ground and hit your head on a rock. That explains the bleeding."
The doctor told Remus. In a few days Remus recovered. He went back to the statue, there inscribed on the fountain were the words, "General Dantulim"
"That was not there before..." Pondered Remus to himself. What was going on? Was all this happening as he was having these dreams?
Was it real? Was it fake? He clenched his fist. With great force he punched the nearest wall. Blood trickled down from his hand and
gently hit the ground. "I MUST KNOW WHY I AM HAVING THESE DREAMS!" He yelled loudly on the streets. Remus fell to his knees. The cobble stones
banged against his kneecaps as he hit the ground. He did not care who was watching, now Remus was determined to find the truth behind this mess,
he would request the King to come with him to find this city. Then he would know the truth.
Remus entered the temple of Tma, there he asked for the skills to persuade the King to help him. The flame on the altar
burst bright blue then back to the normal red flame. He continued down the road, until he reached the stables. He payed the stableboy
five gold coins for watching after his horse, Ragtirn. He was jet black with his long mane flowing down his back. Ragtirn nieghed and Remus
mounted him. The gently kicked the side of the horse and they galloped down the cobblestones. The click clack click clak of Ragtirn could
be heard from the houses inside. The sun was setting, since the castle was up on a hill a while away from the city, he could see
the beautiful aray of colors. Gold mixed with purple and red, they streaked the sky. Remus stared out into the water. The sparkle of the deep blue
waves could be seen with the reflection of the golden sun, and the color of the sky. As he got up he dusted himself off. Remus pushed open the door
of the palace. There was a red carpet stretching through the great hall of the castle. Tapestries of great battles, and of troublesome times
hung over the wall. The ceiling was painted with pictures of great dragons and Dracaes feasting and telling tales of old. The halls were silent,
only the steps of Remus could be heard. He came to a cross road. In front of him stood a mighty door, It was inscriped, it showed a picture of King Faril
defeating the last of the Lizard Men. He pushed on the door, and it opened. Remus entered a grand hall, all the walls were gold, he paused, King Faril was dressed
in the same attire he had seen himself in in his dream. He approached the throne and bowed. King Faril looked at him, his face turned pale instantly.
"Y..you? You were the King inside my dream... You were talking to a Knight!" Said the king to Remus.
Remus gave him a strange look. "Wh..What? You have had those dreams to? Then you know we must find this place. Will you aid me?
Ride out with me Great King Faril. Take a few of your best men, we have to see if we can help those people in the dreams."
"Aye, but alas, 'tis dark out. Will you not rest here this eve?" Said the king to Remus. He sent for two of his knights escort Remus to a guest room.
He was taken into a room with tigerskins hanging from the walls. His bed was made with feathers and and softest wolfskin.
Remus crawled into bed, easily he dosed off to his dreamlands. It showed his kingdom, It showed that underneath the kings throne was a bright orb,
it shown with the power of the moon and the mystery of a diamond. As he reached for it he awoke.
The sun was beaming of the mountains and the great walls of the castle. Remus yawned as he awoke, and the guards and King Faril were waiting
for him outside of the door. As they walked outside of the towering castle, the stabled Ragtirn was claimed and they set off down the road.
There were two warriors infront of Remus and King Faril and two in the back. "King Faril, where should we look? Where exactly is the Kingdom of Mynaltil?"
King Faril paused for a moment,"I don't rightly know, but our guide here Termil knows." He said pointing to a warrior in the front.
Termil pointed out the ways they should take. So far so good, Termil was a good guide. They stopped every so often for meals,
by the first night there was a full moon. "Remus, we will set up camp here, directly under the stars and moon." Remus could sence
something was about to happen, he did not know what. Before they went to sleep King Faril went into Termil's tent. "Termil, what is the next road we take?
And how long until we get there." Termil just looked at him with a hideous smile.
"Oh, King Faril, You will never be there. Your flame is gone." With that, Termil grabbed the dagger he was hiding in his cloak
and thrust it into King Faril's neck. Faril took a gasp of breath before Termil pulled the dagger out slowly and the lifeless corpse
fall to the ground. Termil let the blood flow before he strode out of the tent. At the very moment, Remus walked in, for with his ears, he had
heard the clatter. He sat horrorstrucked. He punched Termil right in the face and grabbed the bloody dagger. Remus thrust it forward, driving it into the
left cheek of Termil.
"Gah!" Termil yelled as he clasped the knife. Remus threw a jab at his gut then followed it up with and uppercut to the face.
Termil fell to the ground and Remus kicked his face in, and stomped on his stomach. Blood could be seen gushing from every part of Termil.
Remus picked up the knife and in a swift action, slit his throat.
In the morning then had a slight ceremony for the King. He was burried under the mountain, a single lilly was placed on the grave.
"Rest in peace. Forever..." Sighed Remus. IF you looked closley you could see the streams of tears running down his face. He turned and mounted his horse. "Lets get going." He said.
