DARKNESS

I longed to see the light

I wanted to feel alive again

I longed for that embrace

That would take this pain away

Life's all gray for me

Nothing but the ash of yesterday

I'm drifting

Lost and alone in the darkness

I longed to see again

The smile of that face

The face who took my smile away

The face who took my life away

I longed to feel again

The warmth of the morning sun

The cold water of the rain

But I feel nothing because of him

In the darkness

I still search

Hoping I find my way out

And back into his good graces

I longed for him

He who took my smile away

He who took my life away

He who is my smile and my life

I am alone

Lost in the darkness

Never to find light again

Never to see the sun again
