Looking Back: A Collection

Author’s Notes: I remember myself when I was about six or seven. Once I, full of innocence had envisioned the world as a family of love and a shelter of countless dreams and hope. But the worst experience took place in me like any other child. I had seen the realities of life. It came to me like a puddle of darkness swallowing the white, scarring me as if a knife had gone through my heart.

I had poured out my feelings then with the help of my pen and paper. They all reflected a lost soul wandering in a strange land, in pain and sorrow. Now knowing the real world that I live in, how can I actually find love in it?

I used to rely on my paper and pen also to bring my most desired dreams to life. I imagined myself being alongside someone I could show my heart to, and we could explore places with joy. How can you blame a child for wanting something that isn’t there, for the truth is, for him or her, a reenactment of his nightmares?

Where is Love (1996)

Where is love in this world?

Can it possibly be here?

In a den of endless evil

Wandering about?

In a wretched world

Filled with hungry wolves?

Can love be made

If our hearts are set with evil?

If we ourselves are cruel and shameless?

Can love be felt

If love can’t be made?

If love can’t be found?

What is the purpose of our lives?

Is it love and friendship?

Or evil and gluttony?
