Year Made: 1993
I found this (along with my other poems and songs) in an old notebook of mine. ‘1993’ was the title on the front page, along with my scrawled signature, with pages properly written and dated, but I can hardly recall making songs when I was six. Please read on and tell me what you think.
My Spring in the Winter
Whenever I’m down, deep and loveless
You help me stand up
When I’m lost in the desert
You make me feel like it’s paradise
Refrain:
(You say) Don’t worry, ‘cause I’m also here
Making you feel wild and free
Chorus:
Be my spring in the winter
Keeping me safe and warm
No matter where you are
To melt my numb heart
So here I am, lost and lonely
What is keeping you from being here?
I need your sunlight to help me grow
Like a bud to a blossom*
Bridge:
A rainbow to the white world
Provide me color
Just as your smiles
Provide me life
* - repeat chorus
