Year Made: 2002
During Music class, we were asked to compose a song that represents the world revolving around a teenager. Little did I know that when I’d start this project, I would show to my class what the teenager inside of me has to say, and want to change in my whole damned life.
Alright
You say you are fine
But you hold them inside
Your emotions you feel, can’t pour ‘em out
You try to be strong
But you don’t know where you belong
All the pain and the hurt
Wanna rip your heart out
Wanna die so soon
Just get up and leave the world below?
Why force yourself
To go out and be with another man?
Chorus:
Be sane and be free
Get your car and drive out to reality
Be loved or make hate
Do everything you can before it is too late
Don’t just sit there and frown
There’s so much to be seen
So let go
Let go of anxiety
It’s gonna be alright
Don’t you hate it
When you are left alone
Can’t you say it
That you’re only vulnerable
Do your best, succeed—
You have done
But why are you so alone
Path’s all twisted and cracked
And you’re left in pieces…
(Go and be gone.)
