Tears from the Skies

Against the soft sky
Stood tall, symbols of
American prosperity.
They would stand proud
Forever.

Angels fluttered in the sky
Invisible to New York, Washington
Self-absorbed cities.
Invisible as a
Tragedy.

Flew one plane
Flew two; into the
Building of dreams.
Ripping away America’s innocence
Forever.

Down swoop, angel
Nations cried that day.
Came fear, came terror.
