I've fallen so far
I really don't know
What I'm going to do
With myself, it's something different
Than I ever thought I'd feel
The same little things
Running in and out
And around
Trying to tease me with false memories
Trying to rope me in
Like the serpent
Enticing me with silky lies
Like the serpent, burnt into my mind
I see it when I close my eyes
I hear its voice
Echoing in my ears
I hear it in my dreams
Hear its silky whispers
Try to resist the craven lies
Try to stop the pain
Lash out, bite, slash
Silk-tongued serpent, laughing at me
Smiling at me
Whispering its little secrets in my ears as I sleep
Laughing all the while
Laugh, snake.
Laugh!
Twisted too far to fall any farther
Clutching at whatever handhold I find
Finding the strangest ways to scream
Little secrets deep inside
Even when I try to hide
Them they all come back at the worst of times
Mocking me like they always do
Can't you see that it's too late?
Can't you see it?
I can
I see how late the day grows
How tall the shadows stand
We stand on the edge of the world
But we can't see it
Don't even try to stop him
Little snake
Whispering secrets of silk
Whispering pretty lies
Dark curtain of night enveloping day
Shadows melting into night
Shadows disappearing
Lies hiding in truth hiding behind lies
Single tear
Snake
Laughter
Laughter
Laughter
Silky lies
Laughter
Whispered secrets in the dark
Hushed inside the shadows
Growing longer
Growing dark
Bleeding into the night
Bleeding
Lies
Silk
Serpent's tongue
Bloody trail of silk
