Sunlight

Sunlight,
Pour down onto my skin
Let it sink into my flesh
And fill me with the warmth of life
That I might persist
Against the surrounding death

Sunlight,
Deliver me from cold and ice
Away from this frosty prison.
This barren wasteland
And may I be free
From winter’s merciless grasp

Sunlight,
Shine through all my blemishes
Purify my inner self
Take away the sadness
And replace it with the hope
Of life’s triumph over all sorrow.
