As they kissed, she felt it. The unbreakable bond between them. The barriers were now fully down, after all those sweet, sweet weeks, playing hard to get, flirting at every opportunity, and unmerciful teasing, she had him. And he had her. They would never let go.

It had all started late that autumn. Leah Dunn, and her family (one very annoying little brother and a border collie, Sammy, in no particular order) moved up from London to Chester. Something to do with her dad's promotion, she thought. Leah was in no way happy about the move. Well, would you expect a 15-year-old girl to be happy to leave all her friends and uproot? Didn't think so. Anyway, she duly started at Woodthorpe High School, the comprehensive just round the corner from the new house. Lucky me! She thought, bitterly. She hoped there would be some reasonable lads there, and maybe even a group of pleasant girls she could tag onto.

Toby Shaw, a 16 year old, slightly built student, made his way into the old school for the umpteenth time in his life. His dirty blonde hair glinted in the sun; he flicked his curtains out of his deep blue eyes. He then shoved his hands deep inside his pockets, and sighed. GCSE's were taking their toll on him. Toby's exams were coming up shortly; he knew he was going to have a hell of a struggle in them. The heavy weight of all his textbooks in his rucksack slowed him down somewhat, and he found he even had to set off a little earlier nowadays in the mornings to be sure he could make it to school on time. As he made his way up the worn, stone steps into the Yr11 block, he spotted his "gang". Well, not so much spotted, as heard. Adam was shouting his mouth off about some girl he'd had the night before. Toby rolled his eyes in bemusement, as all the other lads oohed and aahed at Adam's story. If there was one person he really hated in his group, it would have to be Adam. He ruled the school, all the females swooned over him, even the teachers! He was always gobbing off, blabbing everyone's secrets, getting all the girls. Toby, on the other hand, was shy, quiet and somewhat withdrawn in comparison. He was still a virgin, which was surprising considering his gorgeous looks and lovely personality. None of the girls in the school, or outside it so far, had been at all his type. Sure, they were cute, but their short, tarty skirts and slapped on make-up spoilt them to some extent. He had yet to meet the right girl for him, but he was sure he day. Toby high-fived Dave, his best mate since primary school. Dave was a likely lad, but he was great through and through. As the lads made their way to their form rooms, Toby noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

Leah nervously walked across to the strange, new building. She had never been "the new girl" before. She remembered at Bartwick High, making fun of the new ones, sitting on their own, looking a bit bewildered by the world. This saddened her slightly, she was a shallow and immature girl back then, but this was her new life, she must break the cycle and remake herself as the true Leah Dunn she knew was hidden inside. With a determined step, she entered her new environment. She looked around the reception area, glancing at the panelled oak doors with the grand titles "Head teacher-Mrs B G Harrows BsC, Dip" and "Deputy Head teacher-Mr J H Dartham BsC". The secretary suddenly squawked at her, barking instructions on where to go. She obediently shuffled off to find her form room. The corridors were still ablaze with students, going through their lockers and hurriedly making their way to registration. Leah found her locker, and emptied her small bag into it. She turned to look around for her classroom, when she noticed something out of the corner of her eye.

Oh..My..God. Those were exactly Toby's thoughts at that moment in time. Walking, sideways onto him, was the most beautiful female ever to step on the planet. Her long, flowing, brunette hair shone in the daylight. Her medium-length skirt (no tarty stuff for this classy lay-dee!) clung to her slim figure perfectly, her blouse outlining her flawless silhouette. He didn't recognise her, must be a newbie, he wondered curiously. He looked away only briefly to collect his bundle of books for the day, before glancing back towards her. Phew, she was still there. He set off to his classroom, which "happened" to be in the same direction as she was going. He couldn't believe it when she actually turned into his form room. He was in luck today! He set off following her, entering the classroom with a newfound cockiness about him. Toby took a seat behind "the new girl" and thought up ways to impress this newfound beauty.
