Dedication: To the girls in my class. We have so much fun at lunch that I thought I'd write about it. There's so much to say, I couldn't possibly put it all in, so I just gave the general gist of it. I didn't no how to integrate in Tracie's operations or Abby's dramatic imitations of her dad ("Dad, I'm not playing softball." "WHAT?") or how Cara laughs like five different ways in two seconds or how Aaron (Nora) always hears EVERYTHING. Anyway, I'm sure those are the kind of things this poem will remind you of. I love you all! Enjoy!

Lunchtime Sisters

The lunch bell rings. Finally, fourth period's over! We rush up to homeroom, Stopping briefly at our lockers. We grab our lunches And hurry into the room.

Ten of us pack around A table meant for four. And suddenly, our mouths start working. Blast-off! Just like ten rockets.

Ten girls around one table Chattering, laughing, and shouting While simultaneously stuffing our faces.

We talk about the weirdest things From our favorite TV shows All the way up to our breasts. Our conversations abound.

Some of us are always laughing, Some of us are obnoxiously loud, Some of us are animated and dramatic, Some of us just sit and nod, And some of us don't catch on Until the conversation is over.

We're the girls of 8-1, The maidens with the big mouths, The lunchtime sisters!!

The guys think we're crazy.
