The heat of the darkness
Echoes to me
When the birds fall
And ashes gather
To make a treat
Of the emptied world
When I don’t see you
When you don’t see me
How can I remember,
How it used to be?
I call to the light
But no one responds
I am alone
Is this the darkness that returns?
Am I dead? Gone for good?
To sink beyond despair
To lose water, love
To gain fire, hate
So long have I awaited
To enter this world
Buried.
Bruised.
Black.
And in the darkness
I sink to sleep.
