Note: This is about complaints that should be made but aren’t. Sometimes, people just don’t have the courage to speak out. I know I used to be one of them and I still am one of them occasionally. People should speak out the wrongs in life and take a stand so that things can change. Some people stood by in wars and watched atrocities be committed. That was horrible. They never said a word. I know this poem isn’t that good, but I hope the message gets across.

Still Silence

Voices muffled…

Higher ones to appease…

So many left in the darkness…

So little in the light…

Complaints shut out…

They don’t listen.

They don’t want to listen.

“Improvements,”

They whine,

“Are not needed.”

When they really are…

People don’t listen sometimes…

Because they think they’re right…

Even teachers and parents…

Even those in power…

People who don’t

Have the courage…

They hide

in the shadows sometimes.

Corrupt bargains

In the dark

Ignored and unnoticed.

No whispers in fear

Of social status,

Reputation, and such.

I know how it’s like.

Unfortunately, sometimes

I’m one of the silent ones,

Afraid and angry,

But helpless.

Speak out.

I know when I do,

Things can change.

If only we could all

Including me,

Have the bravery

To speak out right…
