Note: Another angsty poem? Written during...umm...class... yeah...

Fade Away(2003)

The light music plays softly in the background

As I, with wandering thoughts, stroll calmly around.

The night sky, so beautiful, so serene, so dark,

With the North Star as a bright guiding mark.

The forests by the town are lush and plentiful in green.

So playful, childish, they seem.

As I walk into the mists,

Flashes of my past glint before me,

Reminding me of the people I used to know.

------Faces so familiar yet vague.

Reminding me of the places I used to belong,

-----Places so nice yet ominous.

Memories of death and pain flood me,

Reminding me of unknown identities.

Remembering things I will leave behind…

-----My heart and soul,

-----My contributions to the community,

-----The chances for all to steal merit…

The forests are very welcoming

With their trees and soft noises,

As I realize my only choice and destiny…

Walk away…

Away from life,

Away from strife.

Walk away…

Disappear…

-----Into the mists…

Be gone forever…
