Haikus I

I. When I called for love,
It refused to come, stubborn;
And the cold claimed me.

II. Change is so simple,
Yet it never prevails here,
Stuck in the blackness.

III. Simple blessings of
Cinnamon vanilla sweet
That I cannot have.

IV. Give me contrition;
I ask you not for sermons,
But you still give them.

V. There are not enough
Syllables in a haiku
To say what I wish.

VI. The world springs to life -
Colour, green, fresh, born anew.
New life is vibrant.

VII. It blooms in silence
In the darkness, nocturnal.
Its thorns prick at me.
