Disillusion
In lonely solitude I am confined
the salty river streams from sea down eye
the warmth of feathered touch from you I find
impart me the will to grow wings and fly
Drifting upon the clouds ivory joy
beneath the sun of gold and silvery moon
wrapped in night's velvet and gaze of stars so coy
my heart fears this joy must come to end soon
the locomotive's roar shatters the dream
waxing melancholy in churchbell's dole
the furies perched on the monoliths scream
the concrete behemoth devours me whole
light has shown me what I yearn to forget
my birth here is now too late for regret
