Danny glanced at the piece of paper in his hand before shoving it in his pocket and continuing down his path. The woods were alive tonight and the moon black with it accursed cycle, stars reined over the sky in a glinting battle of speculation but Danny kept his steel gray eyes constant on his destination ahead, whatever his destination may be. He hung his head, relaxed, calm and deep in thought, his dark brown hair cascading down his face, falling in front of his eyes. He felt at home in the woods, even in the most dangerous parts and it was during his late aimless walks like this where he lost himself in his thoughts. He closed his eyes and continued to walk, his breathing and soft steps upon the earths soil the only sound to his Elven ears. But his subtle train of thought was quickly interrupted when his ears caught a hint of a twig snap within the thick brush the forest floor provided. He flinched his muscles reacting instinctively as he moved his fingers over the smooth leather braiding of the broadsword that rested lazily at his hip. He pivoted his body at every angle, making small circles in the ground with the turns of his feet as he shifted his weight upon the earth's crust. His focused, calm eyes scanning the darkest shadows for any sort of mimicry. His hand ticked around the hilt of his sword as he tightened his grip and began to unsheathe the lethal blade, the metal singing as it flowed from its restricted location. The metal reflected itself in Danny's eyes, the reflection of strength, determination and will as he watched the darkness that surrounded him. Then, he caught it, the glint of the creature that had been stalking him from the beginning of his journey and was now prepping itself to make its move. Danny's muscles rippled with intensity as he stiffened his body to lock his blade into place when he heard the sound of the beast beginning to move itself around him in steady, constant circles. Danny knew from years of experience at a young age, that with this sudden shift in the creature's movements, it knew it had been locked on to, yet it still cloaked itself in the intensity of the night's mystic, foreboding shadows.

"Show yourself! I might be more merciful upon you if you do so." Danny's eyes were cold and steadfast as they ransacked the shadows in an attempt to pry the creature's true form to his eyes. And in a moment that seemed as if the shadows parted, the night crawler was revealed in an array of speculation that only the mask of night could provide. Body of a female human, coal black skin that was cold and smooth except for the lingering battle scars that had been inflicted upon it, yellow eyes that glinted and shimmered like that of a nocturnal feline, large rectangular shaped ears that protruded out from the side of her face a few inches and then shot strait back, surrounded with short, shaggy, silver hair that shimmered and fell aimlessly around them, though her mouth was closed, Danny knew what lingered beyond those lips. Teeth of a predator with brutal fangs that could break solid steel, with a red, pink or black tongue that mirrored that of a snake. But it was not the fangs that were known for killing so many, t'was the talons that rested in a sleeping death at the end of fingers. Poisonous talons that neither Man, Magician nor Elf could match in strength. They both stood frozen, watching each other, Danny's merciless, clouded eyes never unlocked themselves from that female and his lips whispered the name of the creature as his vision dug into the shadows of that body.

"Soreth.." The female jerked at hearing the name of her people, Her muscles rippling as she released a mono-toned growl. She stood firmly on two legs, a steady curve running in her human spinal cord as she flexed her self toward Danny, pushing out her chest enough to make Danny believe she was challenging him. She began to move, her feet crossing over each other as she cautiously attempted to circle around Danny, wary of his sword. Though highly intimidating, she moved with agility that no other species could acquire, swift yet diligent in her movements as if she were a predatorily cat on the hunt that had mastered the art of a human form. Danny moved with her, keeping his eyes steady with her movements until it begun, they danced the rhythmic duet of death. She lunged for Danny who blocked her attack with ease, but his attention was pulled away from her talons until he felt them dig into the back of his knee. He cringed and knocked himself away from her, she leaped back and stood a smirk running across her face revealing a glint of her fangs. Danny could feel a thick, warm substance running down the smooth flesh of his leg, his warm brown pants soaking up his crimson blood from the gash, the venom eating away the tissue of his skin. He could hear his skin sizzling and slightly pop as he felt the venom starting to consume his body. Danny fell to one knee, gasping for breath, his pulse erratic. Thick, blue veins bulging from his body with screaming agony as the poison swam with throbbing vengeance and began to rip him apart from the inside. The Soreth smiled, pleased with her unexpected attack and slowly began to work her way in. He tilted his head at an angle to look at his murderer, his vision distorted but he did nothing but smile as a silvery luminescence began to surround his body. The Soreth screeched at the appearance of the light and shielded her eyes from the gleam. Danny could feel the poison begin to evaporate out of his body and stiffened as the skin on the back of his knee started to stretch and pull itself back together. Eventually the glow that enveloped his body began to fade, his opponent still painfully stricken from his sudden shimmer of light and he rose to eye his competitor once more. She hissed violently at him, but his expression was lost and nonexistent. She ran at him again, and he quickly crouched, his sword in position. He pushed off the back of his heel and collided with her as she attempted to slash his face, he dodged successfully and he ran at her again but was stopped short by the sudden feel of resistance of flesh scraping against edges. She cringed and gasped with air and slowly tilted her head down to look the hilt of the blade that was pressed to her stomach. She then shifted feline orbs back up at Danny who watched her eyes swim until they faded into a vast, mournful ocean of blue.

"Th..thank you..I'm .." Danny tensed, and tears quickly flowed to the surface.

"Oh my god..Rebecca!! No! Why didn't you tell me?! REBECCA!" Her form slipped off Danny's sword, the blade coated in her hot, black, sticky blood. Her body crumpled to the soft grass and Danny tossed his sword to the side and fell to her death stricken form. "It was ." He cradled her head in his arms, his Elven tears streaming down to soak her black skin with his. But his mourning was hindered by the vicious amounts of hissing that came from all angels. "Damn! More of them.." The haunting night air carried a blood thirsty screech and Danny bit his lip and cocked an eyebrow "Damn..a lot more.." His eyes darted in all directions as he began to see the shadows come alive and creep down the trunks of the tall, built trees in the forest. He was surrounded, if he even attempted to make a run for it he'd be killed instantly. They silently moved in, the growls and hisses of anger of one of their own being slaughtered fueling their vengeance for blood. Danny closed his eyes, memories of Rebecca and his life before and after flashing before him. He didn't want to die, he knew why Rebecca didn't tell him..in her mind..he did her a favor. With his cold, mourning gray eyes still shut, he locked his blade and body into place the death pitched curling screeches and hisses ringing in his ears but the noise was quickly stricken with silence as a low rumble began to echo in his Elven ears. He flashed his eyes open to try and locate the source of such an odd occurring sound, the Soreth were riddled with confusion as well. But the sound did not originate from the earth's crust, slowly Danny titled his head to look at the sky that had, in the midst of everything been filled with clouds that foreboded a storm. Danny watched the clouds steadily, and in the near distance he caught a section of clouds that seemed as if there were going to explode. Then in a blinding flash, out of the clouds a stream of silver instantly shifted night to day. The Soreth screeched in pain and quickly darted in all directions, retreating to find shelter from the painful shock of light. Danny shielded his eyes as well with the protection of his arm, he clenched his eyes shut before letting them create a slight crack to peer at this sudden attack from the heavens. He let his eyes pry themselves open further, until he realized he had a chance to escape and did so. He quickly ran toward the light source, easily leaping over tree roots that would trip the average man. He watched as the column of light began to fade and stream off in a curved line, descending back into the clouds that were starting to split and reveal the once star stricken sky. Danny continued to run, until his blind chase led him to an open field, he slowed and stopped before stepping into the grass land. His eyes glanced around, looking for anything that could have come from this strange occurrence until he saw it. Danny quickly ran to the form that lay strewn awkwardly in the grass. He kneeled next to her and gaped in a shock.

"'re ?!" His eyes scanned over her body that was clothed in a delicate white dress that was splattered and stained with her blood, her blond wavy hair spastically sprawled around her broken form, matted with blood. A sword was attached to hip and her wings were broken and shattered in places unthinkable from the fall she had endured. Danny gently placed his finger tips to the massive blood stain that coated her body, he assumed she had been run threw with a sword. Suddenly her eyes shot open and Danny, in shock pulled back his hand as she gasped for air and cringed in pain.

"Whoa whoa! Lay still! Your ok." Danny tried to calm her, but he found himself stuck the ground in shock as her green orbs that were alive as fire latched onto his own eyes that mirrored the coat of a sword.

"The Arial beginning.." Danny watched, paralyzed as she reached a pale hand that was drenched in her blood to his chest. He felt a shock consume his body as he felt something enter his blood. "Use this, to protect that of which you tend for the most.." She slowly relaxed, a soft smile spreading over her face with a thin stream of blood running down the side of her mouth. Danny grabbed onto her, for reasons he didn't understand.

"Don't die!" As he spoke these words, he watched as his angel of mystery and beauty began to dissolve in his arms, as if she were nothing more than water vapor. She left Danny, in a blinding flash of Angelic light, he was alone.
