So beautiful

So lovely

Tempting

Tantalizing

Yet so painful

Rose…

Ever a symbol of romance…

Ever a symbol of death…

For some reason my love

Is the thorn

That pricks my wrist

And lets me die.

Always a reason to live

Always a reason not to

But there’s always a rose

Always a rose for everything.

So lively

So exuberant…

So depressing.

So out of reach

I’ll never hold

This lovely rose.

Too many thorns

That cannot be cut off.

Too much of a price

For me to be able to buy

Too much pain for me to get near.

Why do only the normal,

The rich,

Get to have things so lovely?

I am doomed by myself

Alone

Without you,

Without a rose.

To Rosie. I love you. I can’t.
