Living Ghost

There is a ghost in your hallowed halls
--silence is her footfalls
she can not see, she cannot hear
--painted with a tear

Don't turn your eyes or you will see
. . . the living ghost standing behind me

The crow in the rafters sings her melody
twisting and turning, my haunted palace stone
dancing on her death throes, singing on her throne

Walking barefoot through your glass shard halls
she'll try not to bleed on your sacred walls.
my ever companion, my silent shade . . .

Don't turn your eyes or you will see
. . . the living ghost standing behind me.
