A poem dedicated to friend, at least the way I remember her. (Please ignore the computer gunk at the bottom.)

This poem is dedicated to a friend.  I think you know who you are.

Two Boats

Two boats,

Lashed there with rope they can't untie,

Bouncing

On waves that try to break their bond.

Whispers

Pass between the two old friends,

Just like

The wind that whistles overhead.

So long

Did the two boats fight to hold

Onto

The ropes as they began to fray.

Then one

Of the boats could hold no more,

Leaving

The other grasping at the past.
