A/N: This poem was written as an assignment in 8th grade. It is a little weird because the

assignment was to write a poem from the perspective of an alien watching a sporting

event. I found it yesterday when I was going through a stack of old papers (really old papers

because I am almost at the end of 11th grade). I hope you like it.

I am from Mars

I am at a "hockey"

I am spying for my planet

The little Earth Creatures are in odd clothes

On a clear, almost invisible floor

They have knives

On their feet!

One man with a face cover

Stands at the end of the oval

In front of a giant spider web

A man at the other end of the oval

Stands in front of another web

Other men with wooden sticks

Hit a little black bug around

The men with face covers

Must work for giant spiders

Who don't want the little bug

In their webs

The men with sticks must not know

Maybe I should warn them

Of the spiders not wanting the bug

Yes I must....OH NO!

The little black bug went into one web

The Earth Creatures around me

Jump and yell

I'm outta here

Before the spider eats us all

This Earth is a crazy planet!
