Prologue

Somewhere in the Nevada Desert.

The tightly run shift of people still ran today, people in robes walked down the hallways, people training, and meditating, the word from New York had told them that the Chosen one had been destroyed, and that Mike had won. No one knew why they continued to train, but it seemed to be a shame to just stop.

One day a dark cloud circled the small building, people gasping and looking up out of the windows wondering what could be happening. Suddenly the front doors burst open, a man standing there.

“Its you!” Someone screamed. “It is the master!” everyone quickly bowed.

“Shut up!” The man screamed. “Get up.” the people obediently got up.

“Sir, have you heard? The chosen one has been destroyed, your warning has worked.”

He sighed. “Yes, I’ve heard.” he looked at the ceiling. “What a mistake I made, writing this warning.”

“What are you talking about sir?”

“You don’t get it! It wasn’t supposed to be like this!” he screamed.

            “But sir...the world is saved.”

“Not yet it isn’t...and I’m going to make sure that this bastard child doesn’t ruin it all!”

            “What are you talking about?”

The man smiled and walked up to his follower in his robe and shaven head. He moved his head close so that their heads were almost touching and softly whispered. “Son, some things are better left unexplained” the man was about to say something but the leader put a finger up. “Especially when they are about to die.”

Everyone’s face turned to shock as the man stood up and screamed, a red flame flowing out pushing everyone down on their knees flying back against the wall. The wall instantly began to crack as people flew through holes that broke through and the man continued to scream.

Suddenly a large flash flew out of him in all directions as it slowly turned into flames. Now a wall of fire blew towards all of the followers who screamed as their clothes charred. The fire then shot through the walls destroying the building, and sending a huge explosion into the desert sky.

The man now stood out there, fire on the ground, as he smiled. “I’ll stop you myself¼to New York I go¼” he flew off just as the head of the man who had talked to him in the house fell to the floor a few feet away.

Chapter 1

2022 A.D. A Private Residence in Staten Island

Chris screamed as a beam of blue light pushed him down against the floor. John came from behind Mike swinging; he hit only air as the image of Mike disappeared. He gasped and looked around as the explosion from the blast shook the room.

Mike appeared in the air behind John, and kicked him in the back of the head. John cried out in pain and flew across the room into the hard metal wall. Chris got up shaking blood off of his head and ran at Mike. Mike easily landed on his feet and backed up blocking the punches coming from Chris.

Mike felt John coming from his side and blocked a punch with his other arm, now both John and Chris punching and kicking, backing Mike up to the wall. Mike easily blocked and dodged all attempts as his back hit the wall he turned around and ran up the side of the wall, did a flip and landed behind the two.

They quickly turned around as Mike threw both of his fists out hitting them both in the face and sending them both flying the few inches into the wall. A big clang was heard as they fell on the floor.

Mike took a few leaps back to the center of the cube shaped room, the entire room made of metal, the floors, roof, ceiling, and the walls. The two stood up and turned towards Mike, who beckoned them with his index finger to come for more with a smile on his face.

The two quickly ran at him, John jumping at the last second and landing behind him, Mike quickly turned around and felt a punch on his spine. He blocked a punch from John, kneeing him in the gut and turned around, his arm outstretched, it ramming into Chris’ neck. The two men hit the floor hard and jumped back up breathing hard.

            “Had enough?” Mike asked.

John sighed wiping blood from his lips, panting hard. “Yea, I think so.” He looked at Chris.

“Defiantly.” Chris said panting as well, as he turned over lying on his back.

“You guys are getting better though.” Mike said walking towards a wall and knocking on it. Suddenly a part of it began to rise up and Mike walked out. He was now outside, in the backyard of the house, the little training center had been made to look like a shed on the outside, even had a fake door with a lock that would never be opened.

It had been a little over ten years since the fight with Scott, and the three trained every day to pass the time. They had learned that anyone could get their brain power up, with enough training, and since John and Chris had been training their entire lives they had been able to get it up to about 50%. They had agreed not to go any higher, so not to risk going insane.

Chris and John limped out behind Mike as they opened up a small opening in the metal and typed in a password, a few beeps emitted and the door began to slide down. The three then went around the side of the house and inside.

            “Can you cook?” Chris asked.

            “I guess.” Mike said.

“You didn’t have to be rough on us.” Chris complained.

“Well you want to learn don’t you¼?” Mike asked laughing and going through the refrigerator for some food, he took out a small package of chicken wings and poured them out onto a pan.

“Yea well not so badly.” Chris said laughing.

“Well I don’t know what you want me to do.” Mike said holding his hand out and putting the pan on it. A few seconds later it started to fizzle, steam coming out of the top. He picked the pan up and threw it on the table. “Done.” He said walking out of the room.

“I love it when he cooks.” John said smiling.

Mike sighed laying in his bed. He found himself thinking of Cynthia a lot, but he was too scared to go and see her again, in fact he didn’t even know if she moved out of that house long ago or not, or if she would even remember him after all this time.

He hadn’t seen her in so long, and doesn’t even know why he stopped trying to go and see her. It was probably because of what John told him, seeing as he couldn’t have a family and all. He sighed again and sat up in bed, turning his head and looking in the mirror.

His reflection seemed to disgust him, a freak of science, something not able to love. He shook his head and walked downstairs. It was quiet; Chris and John must have gone out. He looked at the door oddly¼it was open, they wouldn’t have gone out without locking the door, unless they went back in the training shed.

He shrugged and turned around the stairs towards the kitchen. He gasped seeing a small pool of blood slowly moving from the corner of the room unseen from where Mike was. He quickly ran forward and saw both John and Chris lying on the floor.

“Oh fuck!” he screamed running over to them checking their pulses. John had a huge hole in his stomach, Mike swallowing hard and running over to Chris, who was missing an arm, his face all bruised and covered in blood. “What happened?” he screamed.

            Chris moaned. “I¼I”

“What happened?” Mike asked again. Tears dripped down his eyes as he held up his hand and looked at the blood dripping off. “Oh no¼oh no¼”

Chris moaned again trying to get up. “L-l-l-l¼” He mumbled.

“No don’t move.” Mike said pushing his chest down. “Ok we have to stop the bleeding from your arm. He held his hands there and pressed as head flew through his fingers and smoke seeped out of Chris’ shirt.

Chris screamed in pain and moaned. “L-l-l-l¼” he mumbled again.

“What are you trying to say?” Mike cried out.

Chris took a deep breath and held out his hand. “Look!” he screamed finally blood spurting out of his mouth.

Mike’s eyes went wide as he turned around, his mouth dropping to the floor. “Hi Mike.” A familiar voice said. “Miss me?”

Mike breathed hard, as he wiped his tears from his eyes trying to wipe the image away, but he still stood there¼Scott. “H-how?” Mike managed to say.

Scott shook his head smiling. “That doesn’t matter Mike¼what matters is that I was right¼you cannot kill me!”

“No, you are dead¼I watched your entire body vaporize!”

Scott shrugged. “Apparently not. Now I’ve come here too give you one last chance to join up with me, before I destroy you once and for all!”

Mike looked down at Chris, laying and moaning on the floor. “Lets not fight here.” He said walking out the back door.

Scott just shook his head. “You always were a fool.” He said laughing and following him out.

Mike stopped in front of the shed, opening up the little piece of metal revealing the alarm buttons, he typed in the password and the door began to rise, the two walked in and Mike knocked on the wall as the door then began to close.

“Nice place.” Scott said, his voice echoing as the door hit the metal floor. “How do you remember which wall has the door on it?” he said laughing.

Mike didn’t bother answering that; he just looked at Scott with pure hatred and walked toward him. “Tell me now, how did you survive?”

Scott laughed and walked up, the two standing close. “Some things are better left unexplained.” He said in a harsh whisper. Suddenly the door began to rise up, Mike jerking around and Scott laughing. “I want you to meet someone.” He said smiling.

Mike looked on as the door stopped at the top and two small figures stood in the light. Mike strained his eyes but was unable to see who they were. “What the fuck?” he said to himself.

            Scott laughed. “Meet my children!”
