The lemming marches through
The path of columbine violet
Love and hate
The line of ever evanescent shadow
Waxes and wanes with the tide
The foam of salty sea spray
Rise from between jagged teeth
The spittle of the maw
Coalescent columns rise in greeting
Columbine sheds its petals
Adorns the belladonna in violet
Ruby red crimson
The nightshade beneath the silver moon
Weaves a cobweb to trap the ruby
Flickers for an instant
Then lays dead
beneath a shower of crimson petals
