A/N: The last and final part of this going-to-be-dead series. sigh And then I start again! sweatdrops You’d think I would’ve learnt after the last…oh I don’t know…FIVE times!
Some of you might not be satisfied with my answers to your questions, but I can’t give TOO much away, can I? giggle ;;
Reviewer ResponsesCaren – Boomie! Be more specific with what you ask. Really. Sometimes you’re so predictable rolls eyes Yes, I am doing another one. Didn’t I say that? --;;
Neotheone – New Reviewer! rings bells Why, thanks! Yeah, the creatures are Harry Potter-like, only because HP uses fantasy creatures, and I use fantasy creatures. Two things in common! Kris isn’t a sword actually, it’s a Mayan dagger, though that’s pretty similar. You know, you don’t need to ask me to read your stories. I come along and read anyway. grinz!
RedLady – Hrm…I think I’ll number the questions in the order they came in so it’s easier. 1- It’s got something to do with her past. 2- Her master is a psychotic dude who tortures Kris for some higher good that I’m not gonna tell you - 3- The other dude isn’t actually a dude but a birdie called Skye. Draak lead Project Akai because censored. --;; No, it’s not called red because of the bloodshed. 4- Yes, she’ll get home, eventually. 5- No, it wasn’t a dream. 6- Nope, she’ll find out about her family, but she won’t find ‘em. 7- Yup, she’s still got her arm. 8- ?? I’m confuzzled…background demon? A creature that’s inside her, you mean? Then yes. 9- Nope, he won’t disappear. Confused is good. Really. It’s supposed to confuse you. griiiiinz Good thing you managed to get this far. Some of my friends stopped at Chapter 2. Oh yeah, btw, I got Instability on your quiz. -
Anyhow, thanks to all that managed to stay and read until the end, and thanks to those didn’t even make it that far ;; Kudos to ya’all!
Follow Your Heart
Part 1 – Cannibal
Epilogue
Goodbye my home,
Goodbye my strife.
We’re all just dolls,
Living out our lives.
Gods…
A lone figure hunched over a bloody, dead body held in her arms. Ebony black hair flopped down to caress the smooth, unmarred cheek of the corpse, attempting a silent apology their owner couldn’t find the words for.
What have I done?
Kris tried to stifle a wracking sob that threatened to erupt from her throat, a lone tear leaking from an eye to run down a blood stained cheek, making a clear river through a land of red. Gods, she was used to death, used to killing people. It happened so often back home, back to all she remembered. If you didn’t kill to defend yourself, you wind up pushing up daisies from your grave, if you even had one. It was survival of the fittest back there.
But never…never…did she ever kill someone for the sake of killing. People like that disgusted her. Her consciousness was still there while Hunger took over her, and she saw everything the foul creature did, and wasn’t able to do a damned thing about it. Worst things was, she found a chilling pleasure in the taste of blood. Because of that, because of everything she did and because of everything she didn’t do…she hated herself. She wanted to run from it all.
Suddenly, Kris unceremoniously dropped Queen Heika’s lifeless body and backed away hurriedly, scrambling over her feet to put as much distance as possible between herself and the corpse, her eyes remaining riveted on all the blood in shock, unable to tear them away.
Run…
Kris was no hero, she knew that. She didn’t have the bravery to commit suicide; she was afraid of death, even though she knew it would always come at the end of the road. She didn’t have the courage to face up to her actions. The only thing she remembered was to run. After all, she’d been doing it from the very beginning…
So run she did.
Every wall, every room looked the same as she fled in her panic. Blood was splashed on the ground. Blood was splattered on the walls. Bodies were littered all over the floors. The same horrific scene was there, everywhere she turned.
Letting out an anguished cry, Kris turned and saw a blue portal, shimmering among the red like a beacon of light in the dark. She didn’t even pause and think about why a portal would be there. She didn’t even have reservations about going into a portal that lead to somewhere she didn’t know. Her mind wasn’t what it used to be. All she knew now was to escape.
She leapt into the portal.
It closed shut after her. From the shadowy depths of the room, another shadow, more ominous than the others moved forward. Tango…
“Run, my little bitch,” he laughed, high pitched and foreboding. “Run all you want. That’s all you do, and you always leave a trail of bodies to mark your passing!”
And a pair of colour shifting eyes watched, then disappeared.
A/N: Not the way I would’ve liked it to turn out. Well, it’s finally done, and now off to the rewrite. Note to self: Do it right this time! sigh I’d love to hear what you all have to say, whether it’s good or bad. I can handle harshness…I think…;; j/k.
If there’s anyone who has played ff7, do you agree with me that it was too easy? A simple Master Command (link) HP Absorb, Double Cut and Counter (link) Mime on one character is pretty much all you need to beat the crap outta Sephiroth, Emerald WEAPON and Ruby WEAPON. Only reason why you need the Master Command is because HP Absorb doesn’t freaking work with Double Cut unless you have the Master Command. Boourns.
I think the beginning of the rewritten version should be uploaded by now…
And I think I might be able to answer any more questions in an Author Notes chapter, that’s if FictionPress allows that now. I know doesn’t allow that anymore…
End Story Reviewer Responses
Kouun no Megami – Even though it’s not a Chain related review, I’m still gonna reply. Ah, I’m glad I haven’t experienced the horrors of college yet. - I like the sound of what’s going to happen…grinz I don’t mind the ‘bad language’, considering there are some people I know who swear every few sentences. ;; Sorry about not having an e-mail to contact you with…
FoxDance – School evil, correct? I think we’ve established that a long, long time ago. I’ve been prevented from writing because of assignments, a crapload of major tests coming up and the fact I’m not allowed to have spare time now, because when I have spare time, I’m supposed to be doing Maths. Ugh. Yay for cliffie epilogues, non? - I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait for quite a while, I’m doing what I’ve done for the past 5 years; rewriting the fic. I must say, this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten, thanks to great writers like yourself and friends who you could say are my muses.
RedLady – Lol! - Teeheehee, no prob! Ah, I like hair too. Only drawing it though, my hair’s terrible growls at hair. Here, some Super Uber Termite Killer Spray! Hee, thanks for liking this story even though it wasn’t up to the standard it was supposed to be…I suppose if we did get possessed we’d know we weren’t responsible, but we’d still feel guilty about killing all the people anyway. And if you set Tango on fire, Hunger will go out of his way to hunt you down… Not to mention Sashin would put it out…confuddled? - Feeling weird is good for you, you know. You need to feel weird at least once a day for you to be complete. ;;
Senga – No, I actually haven’t read Hamlet before, or any other Shakespearean play. feels compulsion to read…but laziness prevents Ten-chan My imagination would be very pleased to hear that. Keeps me company during boring times and makes them not boring. Or course, then people start looking at me weird…TT Heh, thanks! Poor Aki and the rest of the world.
