PROLOGUE~ ~ ~1993

I sat at my desk and started coloring a picture of a horse.  The door opened, and I looked up.

My teacher smiled.  “Boys and girls, we have a new student.  His name is Lucas Parker.”

I stared at the eight-year old boy standing in the front of the classroom.  He was so cute.  I looked at the other boys in my class, but Lucas was definitely the cutest.

He had blue eyes and jet-black hair that was in a mushroom cut around his head. 

“There’s an open seat next to Karma,” Miss Shane said.  Lucas came over and sat next to me.

I smiled at him, and he smiled back.  His two front teeth were missing, and I found it adorable.

“Here,” I said, “you can share my markers if you want.”

“Thanks,” he said, and grabbed the blue one.

And that’s how it started.
