This is a(nother) villanelle poem written for the hard working doctors who
are trying to find a cure for SARS. I'm not the best at rhyming things, but
oh well. This one didn't come out that bad.
"I Want to Say Thank You"
I want to say thank you
For all the time you've spent
Trying to find a cure anew.
Keep up your hard work, please do
We know what you're trying to prevent
I want to say thank you.
As if on cue
You were there to know how much this meant
Trying to find a cure anew.
You're working from five to two
And you've never asked for a cent
I want to say thank you.
You've always been there, like a mother kangaroo
Making sure her baby doesn't get a scratch or a dent
Trying to find a cure anew.
For all that you contribute
Fall the hard work that you've lent
I want to say thank you
For trying to find a cure anew.
