Baby (Understand)
By Jordi Sharpe

Poor baby, baby, don't you worry.

Mommy's gonna be all right.

It's just a small fight.

Daddy's mad, isn'e?

He's in a passing fury,

but mommy's all right.

She isn't much of a sight,

but she'll melt into your touch.

Baby.

He doesn't understand.

Baby.

Your powdery blue eyes

can't disguise your torment.

Stay in your crib with the assortment

of toys and white lies.

See how he sighs

when the air is rent

by her vocations of intent?

Don't be surprised if one of them dies.

Baby.

She doesn't understand.

Baby.

You can't let them wrong you.

Scream if he raises his fist.

I just hope that this time he missed.

I feel it when you're struck too.

It's her fault that he's broken through

you innocence before you were kissed.

All he got was a slap on the wrist.

There's nothing, nothing you can do.

Baby.

They don't understand.

Baby.

You just don't understand.
