Another Beginning

Henry stood in front of his car, which was parked in front of a
huge driveway. He looked at the folder he was holding, and then started
checking out the surroundings. This was no way the house of a man that
kills. He was staring at a mansion, with three acres of greenery
surrounding it. The front yard was flooded with wild assortments of flowers, none more beautiful than the other. He laughed at himself. He was expecting some morbid place near a cemetery. He looked around for a path and found one leading to the door. The sidewalk was made cobblestones of the whitest of white. Man, the rich have it all. Following the stones, he reached the massive wooden door. He pressed the doorbell that looked like a shield, knowing that a knock would go unheard. Within a matter of seconds, the door opened to an older woman who smiled at him. The woman looked to be
nearing her sixties, and looking at her, Henry remembered his loving grandmother. The woman's hair was almost completely white, except for a few black hairs here and there. She was to Henry's shoulder, and Henry was 6'1.
She was rather tall for a woman now days.

"Hello. Please come in, please come in."

"Wh- -why thank you ma'am." Henry had no idea how this lady just let a random stranger in. He saw that the woman had no shoes on, so he decided to
take his off.

"There is no need young man. Slade doesn't mind guests wearing shoes. I'll call Slade up right now. Please follow me and I'll show you where you can sit down." Before he could ask any questions, this grandmother lady dragged Henry across a number of rooms and hallways. She finally stopped and Henry
saw that they were in the kitchen.

"Now make yourself at home, and if you want anything to eat and
yourself. I'll go get Slade." She quickly walked off .going in the same
direction that they came.

Henry sat down and tried to clear his head. He had no idea what the hell just happened. The lady didn't ask what he was here for, why did he come, or anything. Either the lady was crazy, or she had full faith in something. He didn't care; he had business to attend to. He opened the folder and read
the papers inside. He didn't really need to, because he had it all
memorized. Everything he needed to know about Slade, and the things he
needed to say to hire stored in his head.

'Let's .' Henry said to himself, as he tried to remember the man's
bio. Slade was 29 years old, a widow, and did not have any family.

'Man, that must be a blessing!' Henry smiled as he thought of his asshole
of a father. Now Slade's was 6'4, 210 lbs, and looked nineteen at the most. Brownish black hair and eyes, were some features of a
rather handsome face. His claim to fame was that he is the reigning
F.R.T's champion for the last ten years.

'Damn. he is good though.'

Henry remembered going to the last five tournaments. They were so bloody. A hundred fighters went in, and almost all of them died. It was the
most famous tournament, and it was truly a miracle to survive. Slade to win ten years in a row. Henry still remembered the awe of watching Slade fight. Ruthless, . There was no way that anybody could describe his fights rather even his swordsmanship. Henry opened the folder and looked at the picture of Slade. He couldn't believe that a man like him was capable of such power. He started looking over the
papers, when the old lady came hustling back in.

"Sorry to keep you waiting dear. What's your name again?" The lady looked
at him with a warm smile.

"Henry."

" will be right down. He is making his bed." Henry couldn't stop himself from laughing. He tried to stop himself, but he found it hilarious.

"Don't worry, Slade laughs at that too. He thinks that he shouldn't make
the boy. By the way, my name is Lily." Henry was waiting for a
last didn't come.

"Nice to meet you ma'am, thank you for the hospitality."

"Oh its nothing, Slade loves when people come over. He loves company, but
he won't ever admit it." She smiled and it seemed to him that she was
having a flashback.

"Lily . I would like to ask a few questions about Slade, if I may." She
gave him a puzzled look, and then smiled.

"Lets take a walk you Slade's things." She was doing this on
purpose. She took his hand, and went another direction away from the kitchen. They went through this door, and walked into a massive room. The wall was littered with things from pictures, swords and other weird stuff. She walked Henry to a wall that was full of pictures. She pointed to one with Slade standing in the middle, with him holding a sword high into the air. There was a bloody body lying by his feet, and the to be
the cause.

"That was from two years ago in the finals. Slade had a fun time in that fight." Henry stared at the sword, which was the infamous Enigma. The sword was it had killed so many. Lily noticed him staring at it.

"Do you want to see it Henry?"

"Oh no. Its okay." Lily had a certain grim look on her face that Henry
found weird.

"No, its over there on that corner." She pointed to a rock that
had a sword deep inside it.

"I guess he has heard of King Arthur."

"Who hasn't?" Lily laughed and watched Henry walk to the damned blade. She
hated that sword, as much as she hated Slade killing.

He grabbed the sword and pulled it out. He stared at the eerie piece of weaponry. It wasn't that heavy. The sword was two feet long from the handle to the blade's point. It was a medium size sword, but sharp on both sides. The blade's color was a mix of red and black, giving it the look of dark blood. On the other hand, the handle was pure black one on side, and dark red on the other. On the black in red was written Enigma, while on the other side the words "Death is an" was inscribed in black. He stared at the sword's blade. In the faintest of writing, he made out a few
words on the blade.

"Live by the sword." Henry started to say, when someone interrupted.

"Die by that's my saying." Henry turned in the direction of the
voice, and stared at the legendary Living Reaper.
