I dreamt of ships

With masts that touched the sky.

I dreamt that I could tame the fire

In the tiger’s eye.

I dreamt of birds

Who soared the winds in flight.

I dreamt that I had plucked each star

From the velvet night.

Last night I dreamt.

I dreamt of seas

That turned the world one blue.

I dreamt that I might find a tree

Where inspiration grew.

Last night I dreamt.

I dreamt of dreams,

And in those dreams I dreamt,

And in the dreams I dreamt of dreams

I dreamt up dreams that dreamt.

Last night I lay

Awake in bed.

I couldn’t sleep it seemed.

But soon my eyelids flickered closed,

And I began to dream.
