I Smell You
by Tyde

[ - + - ]

I’m standing alone surrounded by the crowds and I can smell you.

The din crushes my ears
The bodies press my flesh

My eyes are blinded by the sun, but my nose still seeks you out.
It’s hard to describe this smell.
A mix of hot flesh, Lynx and just a splash of bourbon
that I’d sprinkled on you that cold July evening
You tasted so good that night.
I’d preyed on you all day, doing it all just so.

I knew that you’d give in
I knew you’d betray her

Adultery appalls me…I’m such a hypocrite
You were so vulnerable, so willing…how could I not?
The lightning flashed, illuminating the room and I knew it was finished.

As I stand here in this crowd I smell you
I smell you cause that’s all I have left
All I’m allowed to have.
