The Echo In My Head

Laughter is the best medicine, so they say.
I believed that once, but no longer from today.

Laughter must be shared whether with friends or t.v.
I shared it with anyone who shared it with me.

Constantly I laughed with strangers on the side,
But when one person took it all, the laughter did subside.

I reserved my laughter just for him from the bottom of my heart.
Soon all my laughter ended shortly right after it would start.

Now nothing was funny but to him it was a joke.
Laughter and I pushed away and left him in the smoke.

I tried to go back and laugh with the same people,
But for now instead...
I'll just have to share my laughter
With the echo in my head.
