Tranquility

The song began
long ago

It echoes the time
of the past best forgotten
but it is not over and done

It is ever
whirling and twirling
like the dancer

It won't stop for me
no matter how
I cry
How I clutch my head
and scream
and beg

It will go on forever
and never let me go
It will continue to taunt me
Praise my failures
Worship my flaws
Choke me with its
undying fury

Blood will
not free me
Nothing will free me
of its tight chains

It will stay the never ending
tempest, set out to destroy me

It will never stop
It is far from it

I see the knife as
it is prepared to plunge
deep into me,
so it will finally claim me
in its darkness

But
it doesn't come

Then
the song stops

Everything
is ripped away
in a single instant

And now I'm alone
in the thick silence
that is now
an empty void

A void that will
destroy me forever

And I laugh-
because I would
never guess...
