Chapter 2 – Nameless Town

"And... We are here!" Aisu stopped in his tracks, and looked up at the sign that said ‘Welcome to Nameless Town! Where everything is nameless! Town owned by Kyoji! You can stop looking at the sign now.’ "He sounds friendly! Let’s go!" Aisu started to walk into the town, and what he found was everything... nameless.

"Nameless Bakery... Nameless Junk... Nameless everything. This place seems... Exciting..." Rei rolled his eyes, "Nameless shrine... Is that the place?"

Aisu’s head shot in the direction Rei was looking, "Hai!" He ran to the shrine and knocked on the door.

"Do you really have to knock?" Rei asked, eyebrow raising, "It does have a sign that says ‘Don’t knock and leave your damn shoes at the entrance!’ I’m doing what the sign says..." Rei opened the door to the shrine, not bothering to take off his shoes. If that damn monk really wanted him to leave his shoes behind, then he will just blow him up. "Monk!" Reikage yelled through the shrine, and instantly a few meditating monks fell back.

"Shhh!" They all hissed.

"Hey! You know where that Kyoji-monk thing is?" Rei asked them, but the monks all ignored him and went back to meditating. "I’m talking to you!" He snarled raising his hands and was about to summon and attack when Aisu grabbed his wrist.

"Not now..." Aisu mumbled, letting Rei’s wrist free. "You can blow them up later..."

"How about I blow them up NOW?" Rei once again rose his hand and a ball of fire circled around it, about to let it free, this time, and a chain whip wrapped around his wrist bringing his arm back. "Hey what the hell—"

"I really don’t care if you blow them up, but not in here..."

Aisu turned, finding a man, dressed as a monk, but did not look like one. The man smirked, and with his free hand he picked the cigarette out of his mouth and blew the smoke out. "You looking for me?"

"Are you Kyoji? Aisu asked.

"Of course I am, who else would I be?" Loosening the whip on Rei’s arm and letting it fall. "So you here for what? Don’t waste my time..." Sending the chain back to him, he tied it around his waist, and put the cigarette back into his mouth. "So?"

Aisu lightly pushed Reikage aside, and stood in front of him, bowing slightly to Kyoji. "I’m Aisu."

"Hmm..." Kyoji paid more attention to his cigarette than Aisu, "You think I care? You’re boring me..." He sighed.

"Ah—Well you see... I heard that you knew a lot about the Zodiac stones," Aisu bringing himself back up and looked at Kyoji. "Is it true?" He found Kyoji not paying attention to him; he was just staring off, looking at the wall, ceiling, or his cigarette.

"Maybe" Kyoji flicked some ash onto the floor, not making eye contact with Aisu or Rei.

"Could you help us?"

"Depends..."

"Could you give us some info on it?"

"Maybe..."

"Look, it’s a yes or no question here! No maybe!" Rei’s temper flew up again, and he gave a glare at Kyoji. "How do we really know that you are Kyoji...?" He snapped.

Kyoji’s eyes swung to Reikage, and gave a smirk and shrugged, giving another vein throb to Rei’s head. "So why do you really want to know about them?"

"BECAUSE WE—"

Covering Rei’s mouth Aisu continued, "Well you see we really really want to find them..."

Kyoji turned around, throwing his cigarette onto a statue that was holding an ashtray, "You know this place really is dirty..."

Aisu blinked, "Yeah..."

"I’ll tell you... Only if you clean this place here, until it’s spotless," Kyoji’s eyes narrowed, and his smirk became even wider. "You want something, and I want something in return..."

It took Aisu a while to think about it but his answer was a, "Yes!"

"Good, start cleaning" Grabbing a mop and a bucket he threw it to Rei, "Have fun," He gave a smug grin and left, pulling out a new cigarette.

"Do you have anything in your fucking head?" Rei sharply turned to Aisu, who was about to break the mop on the ice sorcerer’s head. "We have to clean his place and we don’t even know if he knows anything about the stones!" His voice sounding colder, "I think I will kill you..."

"Hey, Rei, I know he is not lying..." Taking the mop away from his hands, "Let’s get to work okay?"

"...You can, I didn’t sign up for this!" Rei’s eyes started to narrow, "I’m not cleaning this place up for that smug bastard!"

Aisu shrugged, "Fine... Then you aren’t going to get any of the stones..." Dipping the mop into the bucket and started to do the floors, "If you won’t help then I’m not going to share..."

Reikage’s teeth clenched, and he snatched the mop away from Aisu, "I’ll do the floor then," Pushing his away he started to move the mop carelessly around the shrine.

Aisu did what he said, and grabbed a duster and started to clean off the statues.

"Arg..." Aisu landed face-first onto the ground, "My muscles are aching!" Rolling onto his back, he laid there for a couple of minutes. "Wonder if we are done...?"

"Hm... Not exactly what I wanted but it will do..." Kyoji all of a sudden appeared over Aisu, "So you really want to know about the Zodiac stones now?"

Aisu remained on the ground, but his head bobbed up and down. "Please?"

"Where’s your friend? That guy with the screwed up eyes and a bad temper?"

"Uh..." Aisu lifted his body up and looked around, "Last I saw him he was cleaning the windows... Did he run away?"

"I’m right here... I’m not a dog..."

Kyoji smirked, as he saw Rei appear, "Now, about the stones..." Brushing a few loose strands of hair out of his eyes he started the story. "12 stones, made for the 12 Zodiac signs lie within 12 humans around this world. They each give them an unusual power no regular mortals would have—you know the powers right?" Kyoji looked over at Aisu who gave him a nod, "Good, In order to gain the power for yourself, you must find the ones with the stone born inside of them. Once you do that, you have to do something for them that’ll change their lives around. If you do the stones will force themselves out, bringing them to you, and once you have it, you will gain the power that the one you got it from had..."

"But how will I know if it’s them?" Aisu tilted his head.

Kyoji shrugged, "I don’t know," Grabbing a cigarette out of his pocket. "But I do have an item that will help."

"What’s your price?" Aisu asked.

Kyoji shrugged, "What do you have?"

"Ne... Rei can give you a kiss..." Aisu scratched his head. "Other than that nothing..."

Rei blinked a few times, "...No..." Staring at Aisu, "No... No... No..."

Kyoji smirked, seeing the expression on Reikage’s face, "Sure, I’ll settle with that."

Both of their heads turned to stare at Kyoji, "I-I was joking!" Aisu said nervously, "But are you being serious?"

Kyoji shrugged, "I’d rather have something than nothing, now c’mon ‘Rei’ you wanna give me a kiss?" The smug look on his face was really irritating Reikage.

"...No way in hell..." Rei’s eyes narrowed and backed away from Kyoji.

Kyoji rose his eyebrows; "I’m not that bad looking am I?" Walking up to Rei, grabbing him by the chin, "Then I guess I will have to make the first move huh?" And that’s when Kyoji pressed his lips onto Reikage’s, tracing his tongue around Rei’s mouth. Rei moaned, which gave Kyoji a chance to enter his tounge into his mouth. He explored for a while, and soon Kyoji pulled himself slightly away, the smug look never left him, "You can do better than that, can’t you?"

Aisu stood there frozen, he had never seen two men kiss. "Y-You’re a monk!" The words escaped Aisu’s lips, "I-I thought..."

Kyoji backed away from Rei, who was paralyzed, eyes widened staring at nothing. "I’m no ordinary monk. A bit disappointed, but I guess I got what I wanted," Grabbing something under his robes, and held it up. It was an orb, with no color, just clear. Kyoji tossed to Aisu and said, "It’ll glow once you’re close to a stone. It’ll glow the Zodiac’s color. You know it?"

Aisu shook his head, "No, can you tell me?"

"Green for Gemini, Aries red, Taurus pink, Cancer silver, Leo gold, Virgo white, Libra blue, Scorpio dark red, Sagittarius purple, Capricorn brown, Aquarius turquoise, and Pisces is sea green. Got it?" Kyoji explained, and his eyes rolled over to Reikage. "Hey is he okay?"

"He’ll live," Aisu looked down at the orb, it was light, and it was easy to carry around. He put it into his pocket and grabbed Rei on the arm. "Before I go, can I ask a question?"

"Hm?"

"Why did you name this town... nameless?"

"Because I’m bad with names," Kyoji answered. "Anything else?"

"Well... Why?"

"Because...I...am...Bad...With... Names..." Kyoji said clearly, and his voice a bit irritated.

"But... You can’t be that bad with names..." Aisu said. "Nameless?"

"Then you think of a name smart ass,"

"... We better get going. Thank you monk Kyoji!" And started to drag Reikage out of the shrine.

Kyoji gave a stiff one-wave, and shook his head. "They’ll never make it..." He smirked, "Heh, and that demon didn’t have to fake it, I know he liked it..."

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Why did you let him kiss me?" Rei snarled at his traveling partner, "Huh?"

"Well... Because..." Aisu shrugged, "Because I thought you’d like it?"

"HOW THE HELL WILL I LIKE IT IF YOU DON’T ASK!? We haven’t known each other long enough for you to make decisions for me... you moron..." Rei snapped, and looked up at the sky, "It’s getting late. Let’s stay here."

"In... In the middle of the forest? Why don’t we wait ‘till we get to the next town?" Aisu asked. He had never spent the night in a forest.

"You have money?"

Aisu shook his head. "Nope, just a few coins but that’s it."

"Then what’s the difference if we stay here? We can’t afford a hotel," Rei sat down, leaning against a tree.

"Erm..." Aisu noticed Rei was right, "It’s just..."

"Never slept in a forest right?"

Aisu nodded. "Never."

Rei snorted, "Che, you serious? Well, I’m a light sleeper, anything comes I’ll kill it," He licked his lips, "I haven’t ate today, I could use a snack..."

"Ah—Ha..." Aisu nervously smiled at Reikage, "Are you serious...?"

Rei gave a small smile, "Nah, I eat once every two weeks," He sat back and closed his eyes, "Get some sleep."

"Okay..." Aisu sat down, and did the same thing Reikage did, lean back onto a tree. "G’ Night..."

Rei’s eyes opened, "And that was the first ‘good night’ someone ever said to me."

"That was more of a g’night... whatever you say though..." Aisu smiled, and he closed his eyes and soon fell asleep.

"Idiot..."
