The Sweet Betrayal.

I taste it on my tongue.

Like cotton candy.

Just as sweet.

Just as unsubstantial.

Stuck at home.

Locked in jail.

Songs tell of joy.

Endless hopes of life.

How unrealistic they are.

Life is cotton candy.

If it’s going right.

Life can be a jawbreaker.

If you’ve got luck.

My life’s cotton candy.

Melting away quickly.

Pointless opportunity.

I’m a pessimistic dreamer.

I can’t taste the sugar.

It’s as if it’s made of wire.

Cutting at my insides slowly.

Sometimes it’s sweet.

When I forget to be myself.

Add a few white tablets.

Then it’s serbet ecstacy.

It’s funny in a way.

I never liked cotton candy.
