And here is another poem… Of course it has a science fiction theme, what else would a sci-fi freak write about? It also has a bit of social commentary in it. I hope you enjoy it, if you do read some of my other fics or look me up on ! Also, I live for reviews so if you could be so kind, tell me what you think!
Fireflies
“How was it?” inquired Jupiter.
“Quiet,” sighed the younger
“Peaceful?” suggested Saturn.
“No, dull!” declared Mars.
“Lonely.”
The others hushed,
for the youngster to explain.
Her face shadowed,
by a mourning veil
For the lost dance.
“The fireflies are gone.”
She now intoned.
“The shining lights fell,”
“and they no longer fly.”
The void’s quiet responded.
The blaze of light
flashed across her face.
The light of their joy
became a fire of hate;
quenched in an ocean’s tears.
“It’s lonely,” Earth sighed.
The night was cold alone.
“Be patient.” Consoled Saturn.
But she remembered the fireflies
and mourned the dance.
