The child I should have been
The child I should have been has a cute playful smile,
She dresses as her mommy tells her, little pink dresses.
The child I should have been is happy and cheerful,
Always smiling and helpful.
The child I should have been says, "I love you mommy,
May I go out to play now?"
The child I should have been has fun,
Never lets frown cover her face.
The child I should have been is hiding behind fake smiles,
She never had time to have what I had.. A simple time to find herself!

Writer's block (written after getting over it()

A pencil in my hand
A paper on the desk
Words in my mind
A will to write
I put the pencil down on the paper
I scribble. no words come out
My mind goes blank
I cannot do this..
I watch another student write
Why can't that be me?
I knew the words just a second ago,
Where did they go?
I watch in jealousy
As they put words on the page
Mine stays blank and alone
I want to yell and scream
For help, but who?
No one can help me but me.
I begin to write useless words
And suddenly it's done.
I watch as others struggle to finish
I took only a moment to begin and finish
Starting makes more of a difference if you finish.
