Operation B.M.G.
Chapter Twelve
The entire trip to the beach was not what any of them expected.
First, they hadn't expected a certain brash jade-eyed young man to accompany them, thus, making Neo extremely tense and Andrea weary. The other members of the party tried to lighten the mood they were in, but obviously, Neo's waves filled with resentment towards Lex had not gone unnoticed. It was strengthened further when Lex casually slipped his arm around Andrea's shoulder and whispered something in her ear that made her blush, a part of her that Neo didn't like to be seen by anyone else but himself. To compensate, he snatched Andrea's free hand and practically tugged her away from Lex's hold and into his own, eyes glaring daggers at the smirking jade-eyed rascal.
Second, after the tiring limousine ride, they had to get on a private jet plane that would take them to a remote part of an island where the actual shooting would take place. This time, Kaede caused a raucous as he held on to the door of the limousine despite Adrian's strong hold on his waist. It was then that Kaede revealed to everyone that he was scared of heights and he hated planes. Adrian cursed under his breath and continued to pull the Japanese away from the limousine towards the jet, but Kaede put up quite a fight that left the Brit panting by the time he managed to shove Kaede headfirst into the jet. He shouted for the flight attendant to shut the door fast as he grabbed Kaede around the waist again and dragged him towards the chairs behind the Three Fates.
Third, Ethan sat down next to Felice during the flight, and if the others had paid more attention like Andrea and Cheska, they would have noticed that something was definitely up. True, if anyone were to look at them for a while, it would appear that the pair were simply talking to each other about their lives and hobbies, but on a closer inspection, one would notice the pale tinge of pink on Felice's cheeks and Ethan's affectionate gaze. Before Andrea could look her fill, though, Lex had plopped himself in front of her and started teasing her about some things, which annoyed Neo greatly since he sat beside Andrea.
Finally, when they had landed on a private docking area for jets near a large mansion, the sight of a beautiful young lady with light-blond hair and hazel eyes waiting for them to exit the jet was enough to send Andrea into shock. Neo noticed her plight, turned to see what was the cause of it, and when his eyes landed on his ex-girlfriend, he visibly cringed.
Andrea looked at him from their seats on the jet as the flight attendant requested that they remain in their seats until the jet had come to a complete stop. "You weren't expecting her to be here?"
Neo shook his head slowly. "Marielle didn't say anything about Torie being here."
Kaede sidled up to the pair, looking like he was about to hurl, and looked out their window. He swallowed hard. "Oh man...what is she doing here?"
Adrian averted his eyes from the ex of Neo as he stepped up behind Kaede and muttered, "Probably part of the shooting."
"What?! No way. Marielle knows about her break-up with Neo. She wouldn't ask her to be here-"
"Try to think practically, you idiot."
"I'm NOT an idiot, you idiot! And I AM thinking practically!"
Adrian snorted.
"What the hell?! What's with the snort?!"
"Nothing, so shut up."
"It didn't sound like nothing, and you can't make me shut up, crap-head!"
"Hmph."
"Stop that! You're making it seem like I'm too naive or something!"
Silence.
Kaede glared. "Hey! I'm not naive!"
Adrian shrugged. "I didn't say anything! You did."
"Why you-!"
The two continued to bicker as the flight attendant assured them that they were allowed to exit the jet at last. She gave Kaede and Adrian heavy glares when she noticed that they weren't paying attention to her and were still fighting like children, but when she remembered exactly who these two were, she flushed with embarrassment and turned away, coordinating with the captain about weather conditions.
Ethan rose up from his chair and stretched his arms out, easing whatever joints that had fallen asleep during the flight, and gave Felice a warm smile. "Let's go."
She smiled back at him. "Okay." Then, when he offered her a hand, she took it shyly and rose up, her eyes on the floor. "Thank you."
Cheska, who had been watching the two since Ethan sat down beside their friend, nudged Camry hard on the side. After Camry gave a stifled cry and a venomous look at the Weaver, she lifted an eyebrow to ask what the nudge was all about. Cheska winked playfully and cocked her head to the two she had been watching for quite some time. Camry looked at the pair, her forehead scrunching up in concentration, and after some time, she looked back at Cheska to ask 'What?' through her eyes. Cheska groaned and cocked her head again, saying 'Look closer!' with her eyes as well. Once again, Camry watched the two, but when she didn't see anything out of the ordinary, she shrugged helplessly at Cheska. Cheska tipped her head back and shook her head. "Hopeless."
"Shut up," Camry whispered back. "I'm not the one making other people look at Ethan and Felice for no reason at all."
"Hopeless."
"Stop saying that."
"Hopeless."
"Quit it, Ches."
"Hope- Hey! You finally called me Ches! Finally! You used my nick name!"
Camry rolled her eyes at this and rose up, opening the compartment above their heads to retrieve her bag as well as Cheska's.
Andrea rose up from her seat as well and gave a huge sigh of relief as she stretched her body. Not only did her joints hurt from the flight, but due to her chest-binding device, her rib-cage was starting to make her feel extremely tired and out-of-breath. She tried to rotate her upper body around to get the circulation back to normal, but when a wave of dizziness hit her, she stumbled slightly and had to grab hold on to the chair before her. She cursed at herself and looked up to find Neo looking at her with concern etched on his features. She gave him a small smile. "Don't worry. I'll be fine."
Neo looked doubtful at her answer, but didn't push her any further. Instead, he waited for her to get her bearing back and handed her her backpack from the upper compartment. Mumbling a soft 'Thank you' under her breath, she followed him to the door of the jet and nodded her thanks to the flight attendant. Then, she turned her attention towards the exit and felt as if the wind had been knocked out of her.
The port they had landed in was adjacent to the beach, and the sight of the white sand that seemed to be touched with a drop of brown turning its color creamy, was breath-stopping. The ocean stretched on and on before them, its blueness captivating. The wind was perfect in its own way; not too strong, but not too soft either. It was cool at the same time, and this with contrast to the heat of the sun, was comfortable. Everyone was stunned, to say the least, that they were going to enter such a perfect sight in their lifetime. Andrea gaped openly, whispering in a daze, "It's beautiful..."
"Isn't it, Andre."
Her other name was spoken with so much contempt that Andrea wondered why the others didn't cringed along with her. Turning her head sharply, she met Victoria Denton's fathom-filled gaze and curled lip. There was no doubt that the young woman hated the supposedly young man standing next to her ex-boyfriend, but then again, they couldn't do anything. Neo glared openly at Torie and asked, "May I ask exactly what you are doing here, Torie?" Due to the unexpected appearance of both Lex and Torie, his anger level seemed to sky-rocket at long last.
Marielle strode in front of all of them as she announced, "Because this part of the island belongs to Miss Denton." As everyone turned to her with surprise, she went on without noticing that the tension mounted. "She was kind enough to offer her mansion and beach property to your band for the shooting. Judging from your expressions when you took in the area, the beach is to your liking, and the mansion will allow all of you to move around freely without having to fear for your privacy being disrupted."
Andrea gazed up at Neo and bit her lip. If Neo was pissed when he realized that both Lex and Torie were going to be here, his faced turned stoic when he heard that they were on his ex-girlfriend's property.

Neo glared at no one in particular as he started getting ready for dinner. He chose to wear a dark blue shirt with black and white lines running down from his collar area to his sleeves. Then, he chose black jeans and rubber shoes that had the same color as his shirt. As he started changing, his mind was reverted back to the conversation Marielle had with all of them before they went about to their rooms. She gave them specific instructions as to when they were to assemble for breakfast, lunch, dinner in the next three to four days they were going to be here, along with what room they were going to be in. The mansion was so big that there were more than enough rooms for everyone, including the staff, to sleep in. Somehow, his room was one floor above Andrea's and the rest, but before he could ask why, she clapped her hands and announced to everyone that since it was three, they were to rest in their rooms, fix their things, and come down for dinner at six.
After fixing his hair, he looked at the clock by his bed-side table and noted that he still had roughly around thirty minutes before six. Deciding to visit Andrea, he rose up and moved towards the door. When he pulled it open, however, he was surprised to see Andrea on the other side, hand raised and formed into a fist as if she were about to knock. She hastily dropped her hand and grinned up at him. "Oops."
He smiled back. "Oops too."
She moved her head to one side. "Where were you heading off to?"
"Towards your room, but since you're here, come in."
She nodded and entered, appraising his room the moment her eyes landed on the bed. The rooms were practically the same except for the bed and the ceiling painting. She had been to Kaede's room and noticed that is bed was big and smothered with so many satin pillows. Her room was the same as his, only this time, her pillows were made out of silk and cotton, allowing her to imagine that she was sleeping on a cloud. Neo's was made out silk, pure silk, and even his comforter looked like it was made of silk. She whistled. "Nice."
He moved to sit on his bed and regarded her carefully. "Well?"
"Hmmm?"
"What do you feel?"
"What do you mean?"
"You know, about Torie."
She lifted her gaze to meet his. "I think that I should be asking you that question."
His gaze didn't waver one bit. "And why's that?"
She opened her mouth to answer, but thought better of it, and decided to change the subject. "Never mind. I don't even want to think about her right now, unless you do." When he waved his had, she sat down on the bed and looked at him inquiringly. "What's the song?"
"What?"
"What's the song in this video that you will be shooting? Is it in your album already, or in the second but not-released-yet album?"
He smiled in understanding as he leaned back. "The latter. Since we are still in the process of coming up with more songs for the second album, we decided to give them a taste of what it contained."
"I see," she murmured thoughtfully.
He stood up suddenly and went to get his compact CD player. "Do you want to listen to it?"
Her eyes widened. "I can?"
"I think you're entitled to hear it," he replied as he gave her the compact CD player and waited for her to place the ear-phones in their proper position. When she was all set, he gave her a mischievous smile, but before she could ask him why he was giving her that smile, he pressed play and music flowed in her ear. Her heart-rate seemed to jump at the way the sound came out through the ear-phones, but when the voice of Neo entered, she stopped breathing.
"The darkness grasps on to my shoulders
And wills me to go down with it towards...
The never-ending spiral of fear.
I call for help and search high and low
For someone to save my soul from the blood and tears that run freely down my eyes
To the rain on the ground...no...
Will life always bring me to this?
The fear of never knowing what tomorrow may bring,
But then I look forward and see you encased in light from the heavens above us.
Chorus:
My violet-eyed angel, come into my arms.
I will love you from this day and onwards
And your everlasting smile will pull me through.
No matter how hard life gets, no matter how
You will be with me, because despite all of it, I'll always love you
And your wings of light will bring us up to the sky..."
Afterwards, there was a interlude with Kaede, Adrian and Ethan all surged in with as much power and passion they had to make the music both blinding and striking. Andrea's eyes were wide by this time and she slowly pulled the ear-phones away from her ears, her face shocked. The song was...not that she didn't expect it to be good, but the lyrics, the way Neo sang it, and the way the three played, all of it was...stunning. She looked at Neo's guarded face and understood why he was smiling before. She felt her face flush from the intense look on his face and placed the compact CD player on her lap, her throat trying to come up with something. No matter how hard she tried, though, nothing could come out.
Neo watched her carefully, and when she swallowed for the nth time, he leaned forward. "The title's 'Violet-Eyed Angel'. It's dedicated to you."
She slowly got out from her stupor and stared at him. "M-me?"
He nodded slowly. "I wrote this song when we met the first time in the basketball court. That time, I couldn't remember your features too well, but I remembered your eyes, so when I got around to writing the lyrics, it seemed that my mind wanted nothing more than to write about that encounter. Of course, the darkness bit and tears were exaggerated, but with the situation that we're in right now, I thought that it was a fitting song. I explained to my band a while back after we finished recording the song why I wanted it to be dedicated to someone named 'Andrea', and when I said that you were the one who created this song, they didn't question me any further."
She continued to look at him, not believing her ears. A song...by Fallen Angels...was dedicated to her. She had never received such a gift that could render her speechless and flustered at the same time. She looked at him, took in his handsome features, and without holding back, she dropped all barriers that she had up from the moment she met him and lunged at him. At his 'oof!', she guessed that he had not expected her to hug him this hard, but after a while, he hugged her as well and they stayed in that position. Andrea buried her nose in his hair and inhaled his clean scent, running her fingers through his nape to his back. He simply held her closer.
Finally, she moved her lips to his neck and whispered, "Thank you."
He kissed her shoulder. "You're welcome."
They sat like that for a few minutes. Andrea opened her eyes, which had drifted close a while ago, and in her eyes was a look that she had never worn in her entire life. A look filled with fear, agony, hesitation, trust...and determination. Giving Neo one last kiss on the cheek, she drew back, grasped his hand in hers, and looked up seriously at him. "Neo...I have to tell you something..."
He stayed silent.
She closed her eyes again, her body tense and hands shaking, but when she opened her eyes, Neo was surprised to see her eyes misted with tears. She hastily blinked them away as she stuttered, "You-you know about my past experience, right? The near-rape thing?" At his nod, she continued. "I-I vowed that day never to trust another man in my entire life, the exceptions being my brother and father, of course, but you...you..." She took in a deep breath. "You never seemed to stay behind that border that I have set around me. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't keep you out. At first, it frustrated me, and...and even sometimes, I hated myself for being so weak, but then...I realized slowly that you weren't playing with me. That you really had feelings for me..." Suddenly, she stopped and gazed at him tiredly. "In the lyrics of the song...did you mean it?"
Right away, he knew she meant the part in the chorus when he revealed that he loved her. Wanting to destroy whatever barriers of doubt that she had, he whispered, "I love you, Andrea."
She blinked at that, and one tear fell from her right eye. Then another followed from her left. Soon, she had released his hands so that she could brush away her tears, feeling so much emotion building up in her chest. She suddenly wanted to cry out loud and bawl her eyes out, but she contained it. As a result, her body started shaking with the emotions she was hiding. Understanding her, Neo wrapped his arms around her waist and drew her to him, cradling her small form in his arms as he bestowed her head with gentle kisses. More tears flowed out at this, but Neo didn't panic. She was giving herself to his love fully, and it scared her. It scared her so much that she didn't know what to do. He hated seeing her cry, but he didn't know what else to do but hold her. Her arms clutched for dear life at his shirt as she pressed her face to his shoulder, smothering her cries. He murmured sweet nothings in her ear, kissing her and hugging her for all she was worth.
After a while, when Andrea had quieted down a little, she moved her lips against his neck. Not catching what she said, she whispered, "What was that, Andrea?"
Choking back a sob, she opened her tear-strained eyes and whispered just as softly, "I love you..."
Feeling his heart and mind stop working, he simply stared at her. Then, when his brain finally processed what she said, he gave her a loving smile and leaned in close to kiss her. Lips met lips and soon both their arms had wrapped around the other. It was at this moment that they both gave themselves fully to each other and that they would never take this silent promise back.
When they drew back slowly, Andrea opened her eyes and saw that a tear had slipped down Neo's left eye. First, she was shocked to see it, but when she noted Neo's eyes, she understood. She slowly leaned forwards and kissed the tear away. "I love you...so much..."
Kissing her again, he placed his forehead against hers and murmured between their lips, "I love you too..."
With the sun setting slowly over the blue sea, the leaves of the trees moving with the wind, and the beautiful location, the pair couldn't think of a more beautiful place to confess their feelings to each other and give themselves up fully to the other person. Andrea knew this in her heart, and with a heavy feeling still on her chest, she made the decision she had feared all along and said softly, "Neo?"
"Hmmm?"
"The...the reason why I'm here..." She trailed off, fear in her voice.
Curious and mentally drained by the statement, Neo moved his head away from her shoulder and looked at her.
She tugged her hands. "I-I mean, the reason why I went to an all-boys school...is..." She mentally heard many voices screaming at her from different directions about not telling, jeopardizing the mission, Neo hating her, her principles and responsibilities, but struggling past them, she grasped Neo's hand for support, steeled herself and confessed silently, "I'm from the CIA."
Silence met her ears.

Camry: Okay...here's the answer to those who may be wondering as to why so many people were allowed to come to the shooting sight. Yes, I confess that the idea alone may not seem that realistic and that the manager may have reign over what the band does, but in this case, if ever you cannot disclose something to a person, they sorta have power as well over you. I've experienced that before and it really takes advantage of you. Hope this reason will suffice. Oh, and also, I need majority of the key players there.
Next, I want to thank all those who reviewed my latest chapter. To thank you guys, here's some Andrea and Neo fluff. Hehe! Of course, because I gave you fluff, I ended with a cliffy! Nyahahahaha! EVIL CAMRY! Anyway, back to my thanking you guys. I really couldn't have done it without you guys. And thank you to those who read this story of mine. You have no idea how glad I am to have you all touch my story. Thank you so much. Hope you enjoyed the latest chappie and PLEASE REVIEW!
Oh, and as for the lyrics to 'Violet-Eyed Angel', I kinda patterned it after Utada Hikaru's song entitled "Usomitaina I Love You (A False 'I Love You')". It's in her first album, the black and white one, number 9, for anyone who has this CD. Hehe! Please go easy on me! I have no idea on how to make my own songs. Kya! And sorry for the numerous typos!
