Psalm 23

Psalm 23….

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

You took (and still take) care of me even when I couldn’t care less what you were doing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the quiet waters, He restores my soul.

You heal my wounds and help me get through life, no matter how much I, or others, have done to make it hard.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

You help me do the right things to please You.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

It doesn’t matter that I get scared. You surround me and protect me and help me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You help me know what to do when faced with darkness and fear.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

You show the enemy that he cannot touch me while I am under Your care. You prepare to face the world day after day. You bless me over and over in small and big ways.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

You are always there for me, always ready to listen and comfort me. I can feel Your hugs when I’m hurting or afraid. With You taking care of me each day of my life, what could I need?

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I can’t wait to get Home.
