Moonlight
Ageless, my friend, is the night;
With time measured only by light.
The moonlight, yes indeed! 'Tis by the moonlight!
Faint in its waning glow,
The harmonic shine of ivory and gold,
Singing as angels in the deepening, timeless twilight,
With the chorus of twinkles from the accompanying stars.
Yes indeed! Night ages by moonlight!
So beneath it I lay, under the radiance of the celestial spark,
With my eyes clouded by a dreamy sight.
The moonlight, yes indeed! 'Tis the moonlight!
Serene, majestic, angelic it was,
This beautiful shine, and not of woes!
Hope and love and happiness it shows;
And by the only time night be measured by,
Yes my friend, yes indeed, 'tis the moonlight!
