I follow the signs
The trail of those before me
Those that will follow
Graffiti litter the walls
Arrows point the way
Signs of love, devotion, bewitchment
I'm still waiting for that moment.
That one where you greet me in the garden,
Lay kisses on my lips, run finger threw my hair.
Tangled legs, whiskey on your lips, light another cigarette.
I toast to the stars above, kiss the ground below.
I clear the litter away
Light the candlewicks,
I watch the flicker of the flames as the night surrounds me
Lost in the movement and moment of you.
Bats fly over heard
Horrid creatures, I know you would love.
They're coming, can you hear them?
They come daily,
Morbid fascination
I want to scream to leave us alone.
Let me lie here in peace
Let me be alone with you.
I go and hide behind the other stones.
I peak around the corner
Praying they just go away
I need this time this moment to be alone with you
It's my birthday and your deathday
I want to lie here on your grave
And stare at the stars
Drink my whisky
Wishing you'd appear and read me poetry
Sing me a song
