Too Many Tomorrows
Author:

I wrote this shortly after my grandmother died. It's about two years old, so I was around 14 when I wrote it, I'd say. I just came across a copy of it and decided to post it

Too Many Tomorrows

Just yesterday
You were teaching me
Your chicken and dumplings recipe.
Just yesterday
You kissed me, hugged me, held me tight
And said goodnight.
Just yesterday
I went to you for answers
And you taught me wrong from right.
Now those yesterdays are gone,
And today is full of tears,
And all tomorrow holds
Is empty years.
All I know
Is there are not enough yesterdays,
And too many tomorrows
