Mime: This poem was inspired by Brian Jacques' Marlfox, and is dedicated to
Songbreeze Swifteye, who inspired me to re-read the book. Enjoy!
"Tapestry"

The woven birds never fly.
The pictured flowers don't wither and die.

The rushing river doesn't flow.
The lush green grass never grows.

The azure sky doesn't change.
The curious animals never age.

The swift waterfall doesn't thunder.
The floating clouds never wander.

The cooling winds do not whisper.
The vengeful snakes never slither.

The ripe fruit never falls.
The ebony crow never calls.

The autumn leaves do not rustle.
The busy bees never move a muscle.

The morning dew is never wet.
The golden sun rises, but never sets.

Forever frozen is this tapestry.
Awaiting to delight both you and me.
