“Ocean”

There’s an ocean in a far away place

Slipping into its confines is like a daydream coming true

It’s like a tub of hot water on a winter afternoon

Indulge yourself, because it calls to you

The sun upon the surface casts its golden rays down

Of any worldly troubles, here you’re free

So you’re going under, letting yourself drown

And the lights are mere reflections of reality

Drowning in an ocean of dreams

The air above is icy but the water is warm

Drifting, falling, let me drown

Sinking further, further down

And in the corners of my mind a whole new world can form

Don’t pull me up, don’t rescue me

Reality isn’t where I want to be

Drowning in an ocean of daydreams

There’s a comfort in a quiet escape

In the melody of twilight you can really let go

It’s like you’ve been the star all your life

And for one night you can sit back and enjoy the show

The gentle rush of water is all that you can hear

There’s no clutter of the real world’s busy sounds

You feel weightless; free of worries, troubles, problems and fears

Here’s your day, here’s your escape, let yourself drown

Drowning in an ocean of dreams

The air above is icy but the water is warm

Drifting, falling, let me drown

Sinking further, further down

And in the corners of my mind a whole new world can form

Don’t pull me up, don’t rescue me

I can’t return to reality

Drowning in an ocean of daydreams

When the sun sets underwater

Darkness is all you can see

And you realize there is such a thing

As living in reality

But just for now, let me sleep

The ocean’s quiet, dark, and deep

I’ll come back to the real world eventually

…but for now, let me be

Drowning in an ocean of dreams

The air above is icy but the water is warm

Drifting, falling, let me drown

Sinking further, further, down

And in chaos my mind can be the eye of the storm

Don’t pull me up, just let me be

Reality doesn’t have to deal with me

Drowning in ocean of daydreams

Let me be

Drowning in the ocean of my daydreams
