The tiny tube ejects your blood;
Steal this energy to survive.
Adapt, evolve and pass it on
So your legacy will thrive.
Life cares only for itself:
Reproduce then die.
Pass the cargo that you carry--
Never wonder why.
Each life as pointless as the last,
No reason but to make
Another creature with no purpose
Other than create.
The treadmill turns again,
Carrot of love draws you on,
Trapped in by walls of pain or fear,
Sweat emotion as you trudge along.

Stop staring straight ahead.
What have you to fear?
Glance above you for a moment,
From the circle to the sphere.
We're aware that we are running--
No one noticed that before.
But now because we see our cage,
We see that there is more...

If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there was no light in the universe at all, and therefore no eyes with
which to see it, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without
meaning.
C.S. Lewis
