I know now
No one will appreciate me
My work
Outside of my world

People I don't know
Will never think of me
Because I'm not worth it

So I'll hide in the shadows
Crouched low to the ground
This is my answer
I'll shut everyone out

I'll hide in the shadows
The depths of my world
This is my answer
The people who don't know me won't even know I exist

I know now
That my world is my own
My work
Is this unfolding mind

I'm on my own
And it's okay
In the open I'll be shunned anyway

I'll hide in the shadows
Where no one else goes
But if I meet someone else there
I might not be so alone

I'll hide in the shadows
In my own world
Where everyone knows me
And I don't have to lie to myself.
