Chapter 6: Holy War

The next morning Li awoke early to fix breakfast for himself and Sakura. 'Yesterday was a good day...I hope today will be even better,' he thought while grabbing the ingredients for miso soup. He started on the meal and walked to Sakura's room to wake her. "Sakura-koishii it's time to wake up," he said kissing her forehead causing her to stir and her eyes to flutter open. "Ohayo anata," she said smiling before she threw him out of the room so she could get dressed. Li went back to the kitchen and set the table with the breakfast he had prepared and awaited the arrival of his fiancé. Sakura walked into the kitchen a few moments later and sat across from Li and immediately began inhaling the food. "You sure are hungry," Li said laughing at Sakura's eating habits. Sakura glared at him and said, "Shut up, Li no baka." "Gomen koishii, I didn't mean...," he said before Sakura interrupted him. "It's ok anata, I'm just playing," she replied laughing. Li pouted which caused Sakura to laugh even more. When she calmed down she finally apologized for laughing at him, but Li played around by giving her a hard time, earning himself a smack on the head.
Later that day Li and Sakura went into town to pick up food and some other things they needed. On the way home it started to rain, hard, and they had to run like crazy to get out of it. Li figured that since Sakura had a kimono on and decided to pick her up and use his trained speed to get them home in almost the blink of an eye. "What are you doing?" she yelled when he picked her up. "Trying to keep you from catching cold, koishii," he replied smiling innocently. "I hate it when you smile at me like that, I can never stay mad at you anymore," she replied returning the smile. After changing out of their wet clothes they went into the kitchen where Li prepared dinner and they ate in perfect tranquility until a thump was heard outside.
Li went outside and found a corpse pinned to the wall by a kodaichi and yelled out, "Who did this?!" Sakura came out to see what was wrong and screamed out in shock at seeing the dead body. Li drew his sword and yelled out again, "Show yourself!" "Sakura please go back inside and block the doors," he said to her without turning. "Ok.. I will," she replied walking back to the door and face to face with their attacker. "Ahhhhhhhh... Li help," she yelled trying to run back to where Li was. "You little idiot, you think you can run from me!" the attacker yelled slicing her across the back, opening up a huge gash going diagonally down her back. 'Oh no...now Li won't love me, I don't have that perfect body he liked...wait, why am I thinking like this...of course he loves me...he said he loved me no matter what,' she thought as she fell to the ground screaming in agony. "SAKURA!!!" Li yelled out when she hit the ground. "NO..I WILL KILL YOU....YOU BASTARD!!!!" Li yelled putting his hand on the hilt of his sword and drew it with speed he had never known, causing the attacker to be thrown out into the courtyard by the force generated by the draw. "How'd you do that?!" the attacker asked getting back to his feet. "You don't need to know, you will die," Li replied coldly, glaring at his enemy. "Oh is that any way to speak to your old friend," the attacker replied, equally as cold. "You were never my friend Chosen!" Li yelled attacking his enemy with his full strength and snapping his defensive kodaichi in half. 'Damn he is stronger than I remember...I'll have to find some other way to kill him,' Chosen thought throwing away his broken kodaichi. "I'll see you later," Chosen said blinking out of sight. "DAMN YOU!" Li yelled out before turning his attention back to his injured fiancé. "Sakura-koishii, are you all right?" he asked bending down next to her. "I... am ok, Li..just need a doctor," she replied wincing in pain. "Ok koishii, I'll get you to one," he said gently picking her up and running with all his speed to the nearest doctor that he knew of. "You will be ok koishii," he said gently kissing her forehead as he entered the doctor's office.
Meanwhile Chosen made it back to his palace where he was met by his second, Akuma. "How did it go my lord," Akuma asked, earning a glare from Chosen. "Never mind.. we must devise a plan B, as the stupid Americans say," Chosen said laughing manically. "Yes my lord," Akuma replied bowing to his master before leaving the room. "I will kill you one day Li, even if I must become the devil himself to do it... oh and you will know true pain when I kill your woman right in front of you," he said laughing even crazier than before.
