ran away from the Father,
denied the Master of all creation,
turned my back upon a Friend,
rejected the free gift of salvation

many times, i broke Your heart,
leaving You for some temporary gain,
but whenever i fell down,
You lifted me up and You felt my pain.

i abandoned You, hurt You,
stubborn, i walked away from all Your grace,
but still, You wanted me back,
safe in Your arms, wrapped in Your warm embrace.
