A/N: Here's my new fic. I started to write another, but I realized it was gonna suck. So I took those characters and put them here so it's all good (I hope). This story is kinda twisted. The little voices in my head told me to write it. Must please them. On with the story. And reviews would be really nice. Not only do they encourage me to update more often, it lets me know whether or not I should continue. So it's up to all of you. I might even give you a cookie. Not a normal one either, One of those big ones with lots of chocolate chips. Oh before I forget, if I do a flashback, it will be italicized. Not sure though. And I'm sorry that this chapter is really short; it's just kinda the introduction to let you know what's going on. And I usually write in paragraph form, but this chapter I couldn't split up. So I will be better I promise.

Disclaimer: All characters belong to me. That's about it.

The Perfect Family

Chapter One: The Beginning

Daniel Smith flipped through a magazine until discovering what he had been looking for. He smiled to himself as he cut a picture from the magazine and set it in a pile of other pictures clipped from magazines. He set the magazine down on a large stack of various magazines. He opened a notebook and flipped back about ten pages. He took out a large piece of paper and opened it. On this paper was a picture of himself, short, shaggy brown hair and dark brow eyes, pasted over a body cut out from a magazine. The rest of the pictures on the paper were magazine cutouts. The one next to him was of a tall blonde with blue eyes. In front of them was a small boy, no older than seven, with spiked brown hair and dark blue eyes. He dug through his pile of assorted pictures and chose a young girl, looking to be in her teens, with curly light brown hair and piercing green eyes. He grabbed a glue stick, rubbed it on the back of the picture, and glued it on his paper. He held it out in front of him, and smiled. This would be his perfect family. A noise was heard from outside his grandiose home. He looked out the large window and glanced at the gray sky that looked like it could pour any minute. He clapped his hands twice as a fire quickly sprung into the fireplace. He shrugged at the thought of the noise before folding his picture back up and placing it back in his notebook. He then picked up a newspaper from the town below. He flipped through the pages until spotting on an article about a local baking contest that took place that past weekend. Normally he would have flipped past this without a second glance. But one of the pictures showed a blonde woman holding a cherry pie that had won first prize. He almost dropped the paper as he laid eyes on her. He stared at the picture for nearly five minutes before a broad grin spread across his face. He quickly grabbed his scissors and cut the picture out. He meticulously cut the head off the woman and opened his notebook once again. He rubbed the glue stick on the picture and placed it on top of the woman in his picture. After placing the picture back in the notebook, he picked up the paper. He scanned the page to find out any information about this woman. He quickly jotted down her name on the second page in his notebook. Her name was Jennifer Parker; she lived in the town about ten miles away from his hidden home in the woods. He threw the remainder of the paper into the roaring fire. He sat back down in his large armchair with a few more papers in his hand, smiling to himself. 'This is the beginning' he thought.
