To Unnamed

I'm sorry for the things I said, or for the things I didn't

I don't know what I did to make you say those things about me

But I'm sorry

Maybe if you saw just how much you hurt me, damaging not the surface but the soul

You'd understand the words I said were a defense against the pain

I thought you were my friend but you proved yourself a liar and a cheat And can I ever trust you again?

Maybe someday in the future I'll see that it was just a misunderstanding On both our parts

But all I feel now is betrayal, and all I need now is your friendship.
