playing with childhood curiosity
to discover a magical world,
unfettered,
and tolerant of all that you see,
your life stream never was purled,
a blissful beaming smile,
always gleaming,
teeming with newfound surprise,
the light in your eyes was as bright as the skies,
but no funeral ever is held when it dies.
shot up quickly like a branch
to weak to grasp a leaf,
your childhood dropped
like wasted time,
or stolen by a thief,
you run head long into a world so full of disbelief,
but years from now
you'll grieve on how
your childhood felt so brief
in minds of worldly wants,
desire,
blinding flawlessness acquire
seated,
throned,
a mindless wonder
but shallow aspirations blunder
whispered through intoxication
calculating observation
led by hand to where I stand,
dissembling the good as planned
