Yep, I’m a freak, it’s another sci-fi sort of poem.  I’m not really clear on the ‘why’ for this poem, but it’s really kind of different so I hope you enjoy! Sun’s Fire

Glowing above the edges of minds

Dark, swirling waves striking rocks

Frigid water clashing

Fighting the shore and rocks

Carrying away captive sand

Stealing stones and leaves,

From the safety of the shore.

Beating stones until they’re smooth

Sun’s fire burning forth

Clouds consumed by light

Glowing, flaring, shining out

Drifting away thin and worn

Dull gray of smoke, brilliance burned away

Dark night crouching to spring,

Waiting to drown sun’s fire in liquid night.

Dark waters absorbing, reflecting,

Brilliance off flaming clouds.

Sun’s fire and night’s water in endless battle.
